Decided to drag him out and make sure he runs OK for a GTG at the end of the month. Oh......He runs OK [emoji106]

One of my favourite Homelite models, 1050 super, ive got 2 of these in my collection, this one could use a bigger bar.

Since this is a super is there any noticeable difference in power from a regular 1050? I have a regular 1050 and i use it all the time, one of my favorite saws to cut with. It has 180psi and has a lot of power. I've always wanted a super but if there isn't any difference I'm not going to worry about it.

Ive got to get one of those. Missed out on a few but ill find one. Thats the earlier scarce version isnt it with different cover and clutch i think?

I know if my 1050 runs good with the power it has those have to be awesome. .. you guys are lucky to have them... I got a 990 112cc but im not that impressed with it... has 200psi but just not all that great cutting. I'd rather use the 1050 any day over that saw...

I cant compare the 1050 to the Super, ive only ever seen the Super.
I will look thru my Homelite manuals and see what i can find.

I think the super has thin rings and the regular is thick. Whatever else i dont know but i like thin ring saws better myself.

I have a C9 I'm working on, this is the Cyl I pulled off of it.
What do you guys think, some of the plating below and in between the Ex port is starting to come off. Do you think it would be ok to run it or should I start looking for a different one? It still had 135 Psi compression before I pulled it apart.

Thanks for the replies, I'm just going to keep moving forward with it. I'll keep an eye out for a different Cyl if I run across one.

I do have one more question.
Can I run it with out a base gasket or should I make a new one?
Do you check the squish the same way seeing that it had a domed piston?
