What can anyone tell me about a homelite 25av? UT 10803. Is it worth getting running? It was given to me by the same person who gave me the 410. At first glance the fuel line is ripped and its quite dirty.
Went cutting yesterday but sadly wasn't able to use the 410. Apparently the elevation change shoved fuel into the cylinder and flooded it. Note to self, leave fuel cap cracked during transport.
It seems like it just builds pressure in the tank and first crank it just floods the cylinder. Anytime I crack the gas cap I can hear it equalize. Anything I can do to help this issue? It's flooded the cylinder three times now.

Hey all, getting ready to run fuel lines on a 1050 super. Has anyone had luck getting the line in the tank put on without removing tank and screwing the fitting out. If I have to do some dismantling, does anyone know the procedure?
The tank comes off the chassis with removal of four screws.
Use a deep well 3/8" six point socket on the bulkhead fitting.
Use Teflon pipe tape when you put it back in.

#12-24 screws.

Busted out the 902 today. Worked up a big Douglas for a friend's wood pile and brought home some seasoned cherry I had stashed.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum But have pulled lots of info from searches in the last few months on porting when my buddy gave me a Husq 350 with racing idle, the repair shop he took it to said it was the bearing/seals and priced to fix at $200, good excuse for him to buy a new saw,I found there to be missing a screw in the bottom that holds the bearing cup, it's running ok now but isn't what it should be I don't think, could only get 120psi on a compression test, so still playing with it but needed a break , ended up finding a decent sized homeLite for sale online for $30 ten minutes from my house. Guy said he had it running but it won't stay running . Only thing I know so far is that it's missing the filter element haven't looked any further. so just throwing it out there to get some info on anyone experience , it's a super xl922

Very few of the Terry built saws were 82cc. Easy to tell as the 82cc saws have a 2-1/16" inch bore and the 77cc saws have a 2" bore.
I really can't tell the diff in power. I have one that is supposed to be a 925 but I'm not sure.
Your 923 should have the 82cc top end on it. On yours it easy to tell as it should have a decomp on it which didn't come on any 77cc versions.

Gotcha mine does have the decompression so it must be 82. Dad has a 925 that is sposed to be 82cc also but it doesn't have a decompression lever, but it is electronic I read somewhere that Homelite didn't put a decompression on the 925 bc it was electronic and the timing was different but the 923 did bc it was points? Idk if that's true I know I read that .I did convert my 923 to electronic from points
I had heard that the decomps were a problem so they stopped using them. My supposed 925 has a comp close to 200lbs so it would have been nice.
Your carb metering needle may be popping off at low pressure or just leaking. Check to make sure the rubber on the end of the needle is good and the metering lever is set at the right height. If it's too high, it will flodd when not running. Clean the needle seat area well to make sure there isn't a piece of dirt in there. It should not pop off under 10 psi. It's OK if it's higher. Don't put much more than 10 psi into the carb.
Just for added info all 925s were 82cc till 1989, after that 77cc, see memo...
