I just got this saw from an ebay purchase and found out the darndest thing:

It's not and 044 at all! It's an 066! I'm outraged! I had my heart set on an 044! What do you think, guys? Should I send it back and ask for a refund :D

He didn't say for sure it was an 044, he said he THOUGHT it might be an 044. You could wait about 3 months and put it back on the bay when it'll bring more money (and fees). I, personally, think that when people put something up for sale they should know a little bit about what they're selling!

Rarely do you luck out on Ebay like that. Congrats!!!

True, that. But it's not my job to edumacate them :D

So I tore it down this morning and this is what I have:

Good Parts:

Tank, flywheel side of c'case, clutch ass'y, oiler, c'shaft, piston, one good bearing (the pricey one), coil, chain brake guts, chain adjuster, carburetor & all linkages, intake boot.

Bad parts(present):

Clutch side of c'case, flywheel* (metal), carb box, filter base, one c'shaft bearing (the cheap one), chain brake handle

*Could probably run it as it's only missing a couple of fins

Missing parts:

Cylinder, muffler, pull start ass'y, cylinder cover, air filter cover, air filter

Now the debate begins. The starting point is I only have about $45 in it so far.

Not much of a debate, as for under $300 with DECENT parts, you'd have a complete 066...

I just spent the last hour lining them all up on ebay. The only item still MIA is a chain brake handle, but everything else I've got on watch. $300 total seems about right.

I don't have interest in it, but how'd it look? I also saw that 362 for a good price. Bet someone grabbed it pretty fast.

I am waiting for his call!
I will take my camera for all to see.
I seemed to get a full PM box.
As I said, I will help out those that want it!

Alright to the chase!

Wrong
-top cover cracked, and chipped(air filter cover good!)
-fly wheel side case was repaired, but USABLE condition!
-recoil is missing one fin(old log badge), and a screw ear on the housing is broke off(as seen in pic)
-rear handle were the bottom mount has the 2 screws is or looks like it my have some repair
-handle is as seen(full wrap cut, and front support is repaired)

this is what I saw and am pointing out! look at the pics and hold me to nothing!. I do not want the saw! it wanted to start but I assume it needs crank seals, the cylinder look good, but did not ask to pull the muffler which looks after market. The large bar is pristine along with the chain for it.
The bar and chain on the saw are in good shape as well. He is flexible on the price...

Here are the pics, I said I would so here ya go!
Seems like a good guy as he gave me some beers!
