Only it's not a 797, It's a geardrive and has
the older fuel tank top. Could be an 840, 890
I would like to know the numbers on the block.

Yep. My guess is 840 or 890. The AF cover has a slotted head screw rather than a knob too. My guess is that cover is from a 1-75 or 1-76. I suppose the saw could be a 1-85 then as well. I can't tell from the pics if it has an auto oiler or not. No AO would make it a 1-85 methinks.

Drove 40 miles round trip to walk away from this POS today. Air filter was like looking through a screen door, after the cedar dust was cleaned away...

Then I tried to slowly pull it over and it was near locked up. Yanked hard one time and the bearing noise was audible just by pulling it over by hand. I asked if I could pull the muffler and he said " You aint tearing my saw apart until it is paid for".

This was after he lowered price to 200. Me and the son got in the truck and left.

RUNNING HOMELITE XL-101 CHAINSAW WITH CASE

This is a running homelite xl-101 chainsaw with a matching case. The chainsaw starts and cuts very well, but does not want to idle. The chainsaw has the wrong fuel line on it so some gas mixture escapes when tilted, etc. the chainsaw has a manual oiler.
The chain is sharp and ready to work.

I will post the model number and size of cut tomorrow, as well as anything else i can not think of right now (chainsaw is at my house, which is 4o minutes away from computer i use).

This chainsaw is sold as is and does need the fuel line switched as well as idle adjusted or idle jet cleaned?

ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK.

$65 cash takes it.

Very nice looking saw for the money, should not have any problem getting rid of that one.
