Vintage 1970s Dayton 21" Chainsaw Model # 2Z463 BRAND NEW NEVER USED | eBay

Where are the Poulan buffs?? You got to see this one.......

what poulan is that equivalent to?

what poulan is that equivalent to?

Yep. Specifically the Poulan 245SA. That was the model with the integrated throttle lock/decomp thumb button and the PowerSharp chain/clutch cover setup. You can see the Power Sharp tag attached to the NOS saw in the pic. It's laying on the PS part of the clutch cover. There was also a later version of the 245SA that had a sepperate button type decomp valve (like what's seen on 'modern' saws) on the side of the jug. I don't know if there was ever a Dayton branded version of that particular Poulan 245SA. I noticed that somebody bid on the NOS Dayton. Hope somebody here gets it. I want to see more pics of that saw, and hope to see it in person someday (say at a GTG).

When my saw came to me it had a green 245A clutch cover as the original cover was broken. Soon after I got the saw, I lucked out on a cheap Dayton orange non-PS clutch cover complete with bucking spike and bar plates. Nothing wrong with the green cover (which I still have) except it was the 'wrong' color and didn't have the spike. Here's a pic of the saw with the green 'spikeless' cover. I haven't shot a pic of it with the orange cover yet.

Could be a 480? 1100?

Not a 480 because of the fuel tank but it could be a 1100 with a 2100 tank, the rear handle was a two piece deal on the 1100 and it did not have a manual oil pump. There was also a 298 and a 2101, though I would have no idea just how to differentiate between the models.

The exhaust hole is way to big to be a 480CD. The operator presence lever and front spring AV mount on the dawg scream 2100CD or 2101xp, the starter also looks correct to me.

The cover seems to be shaped correctly but the square name plate, vents in the front and there are two bolt holes in the bottom lip. The 2100 and such used three bolts and there was no hole in the front lower corner.

How many of ya'll seen this Dolmar 166? My max was $601.75 but was overtaken in the last seconds. Best of luck to who ever got it.

Too bad you were cut short Johnnie. Those are nice saws. I already have one, but at that price I would have thought about another. Seller did a really bad job with the keywords in the title.

I didn't see it at all, talk about listing a 166 covertly....

The seller certainly could have done a better job with the listing and it probably cost him $300-$400 dollars in my opinion, listing it in "parts and accessories" was the first mistake and I can't believe the title just simply read "Chainsaw"........... It was a 9 day listing and I held the high bid of $300 for almost 8 of those but lost it at 1 day and 1 hour left, I knew someone else would end up finding it.

I didn't see this one. If i had i would
have owned it for that price. Buyer got
a good deal if it's as described.

I actually figured you were the winner for sure. Tell you the truth I had some reservations because of the lack of description but I was willing to take a chance because of what it was.

Let this go to prove that I do not "post up" every deal I find on Ebay, like some folks here seem to think. I always keep my mouth shut if it is something really good.
