When shipping by USPS to Canuckistan, we are forced to use Priority Mail (which costs twice as much as Parcel Post) if the package is over 4 pounds (1.82 kg or so for you Greenlanders). We have to use the 'long' customs form for those packages too. Last time I shipped a saw to Canada it cost something like $70. I shipped a saw that weighed twice as much to Iowa a few months before, and it was $40 or so. Longer distance, larger/heavier package, but much less moolah....

I simplified my life a few years ago by not shipping to any foreign country, Continental USA only. I'd hate to see my fine merchandise being sent to a communist or muslim country.

I was told that one of your carriers, USPS I think, charges a set rate for a certain size and weight of box from the US to Canada, no matter where from or to in either country.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about USPS, but I've gotten a lot of saws shipped through them and never had any trouble. Yet.

Just lucky so far I guess.

Yeah, I think Canada is considered one zone, or something like that...

If I was selling stuff on feebay I'd only ship to the continental US. Since joining AS, I've befriended a tarted up cow and whatever the heck a Jockeydeuce is....................so I've had to ship saw stuff over the northern border (and will have to do so again soon). We make our choices and deal with the consequences...

i think you are right,,, we used to be able to send items by parcel post,, but not any more,, it has to go priority,, can't even send anything by ups to canada,, makes it real hard on a buyer having to pay so much for shipping

wow,, those are fighting words

To clarify, the cow would not become 'retarted' until such time that it was tarted up after the first time. Thus, every time after the first you could say the cow had become 're-tarted.' We have not established (yet) that the cow had become tarted up more than once.

Didn't we go to war with Canada in the South Park movie?

I guess I just get my hackles up too fast sometimes. Right wing nationalist. Really thin skin in that area.

Just ignore me.

Tim

It's OK Tim. I've been known to get a bit grumpy on here every now and then. For a while I couldn't get through the day without my daily rant...

I get a bit steamed when folks here refer to ALL California residents as left wing hippies, "fruits and nuts", etc. It's easy to understand the perception however, as all of the visible and vocal people from this state ARE that way (celebs, politicians, freaks on the news doing protests and 'pride' parades, etc). I just laugh it off though. I'm a Right Wing Nationalist myself BTW. You must enjoy the socialist leanings of your government as much I enjoy those of mine......:bang:
