I saw it on Ebay/Craigslist

..And it's got a 16" "Blade."

And it's a 371XP with a crappy Forester bar pictured. I guess people are thinking it's worth a c-note gamble. Personally I think you'd be better off letting it ride on black at your local casino, at least there 47.4% chance.

Down from $800. As a bonus it comes with three new blades, one of which is used. :dizzy:

STIHL 056 MAGNUM 2

I saw that a few days/week ago. I work just north of Rockville but the price seemed high. The people in that county have no man skills so you don't usually see that large a saw in the CL adds. I guess if the bars are truely new and the saw runs it might not be bad.

Investigative journalism suits you well, Jon Burgundy.

Roguebarn has been shutdown. I reported his listings, as I'm sure did many others. I also contacted the seller of the 371 to let him know of roguebarn's nefarious activities. No sense in letting people get there money stolen.

I wonder what it up with the choke on it? Also is this typical of the other echos of the period, a bit overweight and not overly powerful?

I really don't know why, but the 750 EVL and 900 EVL both have a major cult following. They must be pretty good saws, although I have never run either. I always watch 750's when they come up, but all too often they get too rich for my blood. 900's are pretty rare, and can go for big money.

To further your claim that the above seller (roguebarn) is scamming, here is the listing from a reputable eBayer that he copied his photo from.

HUSQVARNA 371 XPG CHAINSAW with NEW 20" Bar and NEW 20" Chisel Chain | eBay

REPUTABLE?? :dizzy: Do you have to offer GOOD parts to be reputable, or can you sell ANYTHING??!

SOME (well, a GOOD portion...) of the parts I've seen him list would have been tossed into the scrap pile WAAAAYYY before I even thought of taking a picture of them :bang:

But, yes, REGARDLESS of the above, scammer's are WAY uncool :(

Sorry Jay,
I didn't bother to inspect all of the parts the guy has listed for sale, nor will I do so. I was merely basing my statement off of his 100% Feedback, which we all know is somewhat difficult to maintain with eBay's bias towards the "buyer". If you want to criticize my choice of words then so be it, but I still maintain that I did the right thing by reporting what I found to not only eBay, but to the seller you so willingly lambaste. It seems to be a recurring theme with you in this thread, and frankly I have grown very weary of your negativity, and your willingness to criticize others errors.
Shoot, it's not like the seller you chide has ever knowingly taken weeks, or months to ship parts to someone after they have paid for them. Nor do I find any evidence that he has harassed other eBayer's to the point of cyberstalking them.
Welcome to my ignore list.

Boy-o-boy :bang:

Jon,

No need to apologize :dizzy: MY statement was:

--not an attack on you, or anyone for that matter
--Yes, you did the right thing reporting, and notifying, and I think we ALL (AS, Ebay, etc) can appreciate that..
--Would I expect you (or anyone else, for that matter) to look at his other listings?, no not necessary...;)
--NOT negative, just merely an observation of items he lists... just STATING I don't think many would waste their time... (for sh*ts, check some stuff out... you'll catch my drift ;)
--Just a comment in JEST, that's all...

You seem to have taken it personal, and for that, I apologize?? :dizzy:

Don't get your panties in a BUNCH!! :jester: Chill-out, man... all is good :D

I see that we once again have some drama unfolding on ArboristSite;
how very surprising :msp_rolleyes:.

This would be interesting, but not interesting enough (to me) to pay the asking price.

Vintage Tools Sears Craftsman Tool DVDs, Craftsman Tool Catalogs 1927 - 2009 | eBay

It's been nearly two weeks since the package was delivered. Did the saw & other items check out OK? I'd really like to hear about what you're able/not able to do with the chainbrake ;).
