We got buried this spring so I put some people off from March. We're starting to get caught up so I called this week and a few of those have disappeared. The only one that bothered me was a young woman that had a small maple in the backyard. She said she had other bids but everyone wanted to bring in a crane and do it from the neighbor's drive. She sounded young a broke so I gave her a cheap price and told her I'd do it around the end of May. She was OK with that. I called this week and she told me she found someone who'd do it for the wood and it's gone already. Wasn't a hard tree but it was a postage stamp yard so someone had to climb it and wreck it---for the wood.
Unbelievable,
Phil

Got plenty of work , but I am tired and working hard sucks , I can't decide whether being broke watching the grass grow is better than having a few bucks and dead tired , makes me think of the old saying "watch what you wish for "

Really???? Sounds like your suffering from a torn labia.... you are not working as hard as you think you are.

I used to haul cheese into a huge grocery warehouse in Billerica 20 years ago. Nice town. Warehouse-not so nice. Can't remember the name of the warehouse. Maybe Finast? Drove all night in a snow storm once to get there. I arrived 1 hour late so they made me come back the next day.

It has been kind of spotty this year as far as removals but a lot of pruning. Landed three apt complexes so that is going to fill up the next six or seven weeks, but nothing really fun or technical.

It's been a rough spring here, alot of tire kickin' HO's and people looking for a free service not a tree service not to mention the weather has been less than desirable. calls are pretty steady but as bad as the economy is here people have been reluctant to want to pay for the work. I had one guy tell me he would just wait till the tree fell on the barn, collect the insurance money, and then call me to remove what was left. I have got alot of calls from HO's that have gotten scammed also, tree company knocks on their door and tells them their tree is dead and dangerous, they take half the money up front, do part of the work if any and then are never to be seen again... sad that people are putting out a bad name for the quality work and know how that is in the business

We have had an awesome year so far, work as been steady, hired another groundie 3 weeks ago to help us out. With the addition of the bucket truck and 12" chipper this year we have been getting all the big jobs the hacks can't get! Can't complain one bit!:msp_biggrin:
