joelamb,
Not even trying to convince you. Just present the facts as they are, and let people decide for themselves.
Am happy though I was able to assist you.

UNreal

G'day eric..
no its not thats an add, its on speacial(cropped that part out)..
Reg list price is $1505.00..

See why I'm fishing for info on the gs3100, or other top handels?
Lost mine last week( I got a real good deal at $1300and change)
It was 6 weeks old. I was just about to bump it up to 13,000..

Back to the 009 (sthil) for the moment..Ive never seen that saw ever mentioned on this site ,,Do you get it over there??

Or is it cause this is AS and you guys wouldent dream of useing one,lol

Derek..

Saw Man-

Are you actually willing to sell parts for Dolmar saws or know of a reliable dealer where I can get parts? All of the Dolmar folks I've talked to so far ( here and eslewhere ) aren't willing to sell me just parts unless I'm buying a complete new powerhead at the same time.

Gladly will put you in touch with the people I know so you can get taken care of....hopefully locally, but if you're having trouble with dealers (nothing novel) we'll get you taken care of.

Email me with your specific location, and I'll forward names to you, and your name to them.

As a general rule I don't sell direct, but try to help both end users, and dealers grow their local business.

Saw Man, Beacon NY 12508, I have to jump through hoops to get Dolmar parts. I have tried e-mailing dealers and have been frustrated with the process EVEN WHEN I PROVIDE PART MUBERS! I love my PS7900 and may even be able to overlook the styling of the PS5000 and add one of those to my stable but I am worried about the availability of service parts ( I can do my own repairs) And I STILL need a flywheel for a Sachs Dolmar 120SI note the "SI" everyone I ask about this saw calls it a "120super" but I want to be SURE I get the right flywheel. No, it's not well thought of on this site, but it is sold in the US. Used more by landscapers and others who only use a saw occasionally on the ground.

thanks nick, i've had it for io years, jets twice and the oil pump gets cloged occaionaly but I was pretty stoked with it...
Ive had it up trees plenty of times before the 020, sure its heavy and slow but one thing for sure it never gets the drive cloged up with the stringy barks over here..020s shocking for it..

Still looking to replace my lost 020 with something eles(top handeled and a bit more realisitcly priced)

Theres a bigger saw than the Shindaiwa i refered to above(300s)
the 357..??? any thoughts. The komatsu g3200( I dont think we get the gs3100 here?) I dont think jonsered are doing top handeled saws...

Husky 338 is a little out there (at the moment)...Who eles is making climbing saws ?? and please dont up me for not shearching through 20,000 pages, I know the info I seek is in here somwhere!! Mabey a link to the right thread??

Thanks guys...Stay safe Derek...

G'day Bill $AU....ozzy dollars ...Theres a curency converter on this machine SOMEWHERE...(I see your a teacher, not puters by chance lol)..it's about 75c on the dollar (dont buy any thing on that advice)...

In talking to a Brisbane shop about the lack of Aust sites and prices... Was told to just multiply what ever the amount in the States...I dont know if it included huge markups or not..

Going by that,, the saw for U.S $199.00 gets it to me (less postage) for just under $AU 500 Alot more resonable...But can I get one over here?

Out of curiosity whats the price of an 020 (ms200t) over there?
I'll multiply it by the 2.5 and see what I get...Might have to buy everything direct from the States..I NEED to replace my entire climbing kit, I dont want to put anyones kid through law school at my expence!! Besides we dont need any more lawers over here either (no offence ment if you teach LAW) Thanks Derek..

Derek, I think the MS200T is about $450 US these days, plus sales tax, (6% to 8% typically), or about $685 of yours (plus shipping).

Glen

Gee you must type fast Glen..

but still a little confused. Is $1023.02 the price I should pay over here?
or is that the price you pay CONVERTED?

Does that mean our dollar is down to .57 cents on the us dollar?? Glad Bill dident buy anything on my advise ..

What is the list price over there (out the door)...

Or will that answer be there once I post this....I nearly used another finger just then...Typings getting better...regards Derek..

Second GENUINE laugh my ass off, of the week...
now I can see the light, you mean we are paying $820.00 more for the same thing in $AU ...That sucks...

Hoping not to be pre emppted...Derek...

McCulloch is not back. there are some taiwanese people calling themselves McCulloch. their saws are CRAP. every product i have seen has made me steaming mad to see the McCulloch name on it. I could cut one of those 3516s in two with my super 44... If i was going to buy a new saw (i don't buy new saws) i'd have to try one of John Deere's two top models. if they sucked, i'd go back to my macs, and call it good. I simply do not have time for a plastic piece of junk built to comply with 6000 laws that make my tools harder to work with, work on, work around... If my tools work against the goal i am working for, i'm SOL.

Simplicity is key. if i need more than a wrench a screwdriver, pliers and baling wire, it's too complex. (barring a full teardown...) Simple things are generally dangerous, and provide a refreshing way to cull stupid people out of the gene pool.

Clarification, Derek.

Your image earlier showed $1459 AUD (tax included) which is $1023.02 USD, but our price here is about $477 USD (tax included)(I think) which is $680 AUD. So far as I know, the MS200T for our market is still produced in Germany, and I'd assume it is for your market as well (thinking of shipping, which we'll both have), so it looks like you're paying $780 AUD (greater than 2×) more than we are for the same saw. I thought our government was top heavy; yours must be outrageous.

Why don't you come for a visit? You can pay for the trip in savings on the one item alone, but there may well be duties to pay when you get home... Wouldn't it suck if the duties brought the price of everything up to your normal figures? A thought, is your import tax 100%, maybe?

Glen

figures are correct a ht 75 is $1450au 046m is $1450 20t is around $1250 $1400 alot of things you would take for granted in US are way dear here, import tarrifs.

Thanx again Glen...but i'm gunna be still paying off my trip to the Gold Coast for ages...Thats only 500klms away...(nearly lol)

well I was right to be sus on the guy from brisbane...multiply it x 2 1/2 the price in US...Thats the price he will sell me stuff for..

Must be all the tarifs and import duties ...Shame we carnt charge any more for the trees ..Yer theres duty on that branch, tax on tax on that limb, leaves are subject to import duty (cause they fall) And the trunk is a stamp duty issue, it will make an impression, and when im finished, dont forget the gst on top of everything eles

so true derek, tax for this tax for that.glens even fuel more than half the $1.10 per litre is tax

The ms200 is about the same price here Derek, you will find there is no duty on chainsaws, at least there isnt here, we are just paying for a lack of competition, smaller market and stihl heavily lining the pockets per unit they sell.
I brought over 2 husky 353's from the US which cost me 1200NZ dollars including shipping for the two. The RRP for them is 1100NZ dollars EACH here.
An MS200T barrel and piston is 700nz dollars (about $450 USD), but on the bright side we are thousands more miles from michael jackson and Barney, we have alot to be thankful for.

Echo for the money IMHO is the best bang for your buck.
