I was at one of my local j-red dealer last week and had a 2077 with a bad p/c waiting to be cleared by jonsered. I was wondering if I could get some more back ground on this saw. I looked it up already on acres already but I guess was curious if this was like an xpw. Thank you for any help offered. Toad22t

Made by EMAB in Canada?
Model Profile: 370

Your thoughts?

I have one that came with a group of saws, ran ok with a quick-'n-dirty fuel system once over but the gas/oil tank leaked badly.

Cheap consumer saw IMO and of the eight Jonsered(s)'s I have, would consider it to be the low point in the brand by a good margin. A low point really, out of over a hundred other saws in my possession, lol. I look at it and think the only reason it has any value at all is as an example of that point.
It actually annoys me that I own it, the thought of it degrades the whole brand in my mind:msp_tongue:

I'd be curious if any other saws in the brand compete with it on this point, I think it even beats those particular 5xx series:jester:

Was a pain to fix as the gas oil/tanks are a convoluted maze of chambers in the front of the saw that share a too-flimsy cover which required me to make a thick cork gasket to have any chance of sealing up. There was probably three or four different types of gasket sealer on it already from others previous attempts at fixing it, including some difficult to remove stuff like threebond.

Chris, if you really want one that bad I'd consider throwing it in a box for the price of shipping and wouldn't be doing you a favor.
Not sure when I'd get to it though, a little over extended ATM...

Bill, thanks for posting a detailed review, I'll hit you with some rep if I'm able. No, I'm not looking for a 370, I have enough troubles working on good saws :D, but I do thank you for the offer.

As I mentioned, I've been keeping a close eye on eBay Jonsered(s) listings for several years because Jreds are extremely rare in Houston. This was the first 370 I recall seeing listed. Perhaps they're more common in Canada? I certainly don't want to paint all EMAB chainsaws with the same brush, but I tend to see the word "cheap" frequently in discussions of EMAB manufactored (usually rebadged???) chainsaws.

The saw went for $77.00 on eBay. I think it's a steal for a running 801. I have bought a saw from that outfit "Hammond" before. It was everything and more than they described. They are a real outstanding outfit.

The old metal jons have got to be my favorite. Here's some of mine.

49 sp also from ebay for $150.00 but has very low hours. Came with a 2036, 621 and a 80 parts saws.

Jdeere66 very nice collection. Looks like you have 52e's like I have 621's. I have 5 or 6 621's but none of them are as nice as yours. They have all been used hard over here in cheeseland.

Greg

Very nice collection indeed....your 80 however is an 801 not an 80 unless you (or someone) have upgraded it with the 801/90 top/air filter...80s all were silver tops similar to the 621 with the same type of round air filter.....very nice clean saws showing little wear for their ages with the exception of the 52...she has spent many hrs in someone's hands...experienced I prefer to call it!! Thanks!! Oh and that's a very nice 621 too!!!!!!

Thanks every one for the compliments, and cantdog the upgrade you mentioned could be why I haven't seen many 80's like mine.:msp_unsure: It could very well be a 801 as part of the decal is missing
101_2339_zps19df7c1d.jpg

Or it could be a 80 because the top cover looks like it is from a 90 with a rubber plug in the hole for the decomp button, but I know this has not been done in the past 20 years.

As for (what I thought was a 80) parts saw this could very well be a 801 as the top cover doesn't have the decomp hole
101_2343_zpsbbcdd3fb.jpg

Is there a way to tell the difference by the serial #? Parts saw #486692 Runner #1618375
Thanks again every body.
Bill.
