No new photos to post, but is seems the new software is working normally. We have been pretty busy between Jeff's house and getting things ready for winter here. Off again this week first to Texas (A&M) the back to Australia for a week, home in time for Thanksgiving. I did get to run a few saw last weekend, CP55, CP70, and the latest SP81 as well as the Super 797 in some large cottonwood logs. For those at the last IA GTG, the Super 797 is running much better after receiving some new diaphragms in the carburetor and some tuning in the big wood. Sorry, no photos from that project either...

Ouch on that picture Mark.

Here is what I picked up today

The one with the air-filter cover pulled 160 and I was having problems holding on to the handle and pulling it. The one with no air-filter cover has scoring on top of piston intake side.

Got all three saws on the cheap and as much as I like my PM800 I could see getting both these up and running if I can source the parts over time.

You'll like those a lot if your experience is the same as mine. My pm850, sp80, and sp81's all pull harder than the pm800 and newer. I think the DSP port hurts torque a little bit.

I went to a mom and pop shop that was about a mile from where I was picking up some stuff and called the guy and he said yeah we have some stuff you can look through. I was really surprised to see one 81 then I saw the other one after a little more digging. I was very happy that I made that stop.

My 800 I rebuilt with some help from a members in no particular order MoJim and Mark for helping with some parts. I have been very happy with the 800 after was done and I have an eight pin 24" bar on it and it handles it very nicely.

The one 81 has a slightly crusty 24" mac bar that looks to have had more shelf wear than anything. That bar alone is well worth more than I have into all three saws to me.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a Mac Super 55. Is there a source to find a gasket for the top cover, fuel tank? My filter looks like it could be replaced also.

I had a good Mac week. Just came home last night with this one. It was a craigslist find.

Also, not pictured is a PM805 that's in the mail. Cowroy is sending that one. Thanks bud!
Let me guess - a Georgia saw. I know now why the guy didn't get back to me on shipping it even though he said he would. I'm glad it went to a good home. Hope it runs as good as it looks. Ron

Scott - Check with Bob Johnson, he's back in business now. It Bob doesn't have them try Discount Marine in Bark River, MI.

Andy - Why is it that except for the one Joey Taylor has, all PM850s look like they've been ridden hard and put away wet?

Don't even think about pulling that one over without pressing the compression release.

Mark,

A trip half way around the world ruined by thieves - I guess I shouldn't complaint much about someone not doing what he said he would do.

Anyway I ordered a piston for the PM8200 from M & D, but they said it was on back-order. I take it that back-order is code for we are looking for one for you. I'll let you know when I hear something.

That's right, it's been on there for a couple weeks. I passed with in 30 miles on work travels Tuesday and called him. He come off $50 on the price too. I looked down the throat before buying it and it looked good but it doesn't feel like the compression is great. I'm sure it's good enough to cut wood with.
