That is the one Tim.

The front tank saws like your Super 250 require two of the carburetor flange gaskets so be sure to save the better looking old one or make a new one. The top tank saws only use one (no spacer required) and I was uncertain at the time that Joe and I talked about whether the sets needed one or two,

Hey guys I ran into an old 1-71 in pretty good shape if anyone is looking. Pops with mix down the carb but won't start. Has 20" hard nosed bar but no chain.

That is a good looking 1-71.

Only drawback with the 1-7X saws is no automatic oil pump.

Do they make a carb kit or do you just clean what is there? Will the RK-88HL fit it?

1-71 should have the Tillotson HL carburetor, RK-88HL would be correct.

What would chain pitch and gauge be on that old 1-71? .404 and .063?

It runs! Rebuilt carb replaced little fuel line, a dozen pulls and boom!

The default was .404 but 7/16" and 1/2" were both options as well. I have bars in both .058 and .063 though .063 seems to be more common.

?? Bars were all hard nose so any pitch would fit. I have more bars in .063 than .058 so I assume my assortment is representative.

The IPL lists the .404 in the first position with alternates for 7/16" and 1/2" pitch drums.
