I like my bar to reach all the way through my firewood. I need to find a find a 16" bar with a roller nose that fit's a 10 series saw and is .063 gauge. That might be hard to do.

Okay, well, how bout running the 9 pin and 10" for GTG's... :D

Yeah, I don't think you'll find a .063 gauge bar that easily, try what CPR suggested.

Sp105

UPS delivered two SP125s but no SP105. :msp_ohmy: What to do??? Decisions, decisons, decisions :msp_unsure:

Be prepared to be looked at like you're on fire at the Stihl dealer. Most of them run spurs and the couple I've been and asked, I got the Jedi death stare...

Try asking them if they have any bar tip grease guns (since you can't find the last three you bought in all the boxes of crap in the garage). Stihl bars are not intended to be greased......but Cannon Roller Nose bars certainly are. Be prepared for the sour, "get the #### out of my face with your stupid homeowner questions" look...

-"Why you need that? Roller nose bars (in his case meaning Sprocket Tip bars.......as he probably doesn't even know what a roller nose bar is) don't need grease."

-"What??? Why you want to run those old boat anchors anyways???":taped:

cpr, I owe you a beer!
If you knew how I have been taking them apart, you would be laughing!
Well you would laugh at me for a couple days!
That picture just made my day, and a couple projects a LOT easier!!

How've you been taking them apart Matt? With a sledgehammer???
:hmm3grin2orange:

OOOOOooooo!!!! YAY!! six cubes!! New rings and etc. I can get.

P.S. Do you have a copy of the IPL for it that you're shipping with it? Well, probably a stupid question, lol. :) You guys have much more than I do, I think.

As for your 101 kart saw, I cannot wait... I bet it'll be a hell of a lot of fun!! :) Go forth and pwn some creamsickles...

Tell you what Kyle. I like your enthusiasm. I'll send you a 790 IPL IF you promise to never ever ever ever use the brainless text-speak term "pwn" or "pwnage" again in this or any other chainsaw thread. We're not talking fart-pipe sport-compact cars here. Remember, "pwn" has no place where PBR's are consumed...

Make your promise, and then PM your email addy to me...

Now that I saw the suspenders, shirt, patch, and hard hat, does anyone have those they are willing to sell? I would love to wear them while cutting up wood with the Macs.

My dad bought the PM320 I still own during the time of that ad campaign. I was a whole 5 or 6 years old. I remember that the store (K-Mart I think...........ugh) was out of stock of 'em, and issued him a rain check for the sale. Got the saw a few weeks later...

Sorry Ron, no mufflers here. I need a couple myself.

Same here....

Muckaluck is cause for a bullet in the foot.

I agree completely. It's pronounced "McCulluh"...

795-895 questions

picked up an 895 last night and got it running and cutting today.

first thing I did was pull the coil and look for special bumps on the block.

then I noticed it needed to be spaced when re mounting. What is the recomended gap from the rotor?

The 895 had a few things taken off so I need some fasteners.

I grabbed a 795 and was trying to pull the muff and I think I have a hogged out allen head. Any ideas how to get that bugger out? Drill it off maybe?

thanks, ric

It's completely ruined Ric. Send the saw to me and I'll make sure it get's recycled into Prius battery parts. Not buying it? Well it was worth a shot...

I've had good luck with 'left hand' drill bits of a diameter slightly greater than the measurement accross the 'points' of the hex screw. Chuck it in a drill press (running in reverse) and go slow. They will often bite in the hole and turn the screw out...........unless it's really siezed up...

:( What did he do with his Macs? If he needs to give any away... I will take them...

Easy tiger. You haven't even received your 790 project yet....:jester:

jeesh, were do ya find all the big bore gear drives???? I've got an eye open for a 100cc or bigger direct or gear drive.

Buggered allen head= drill bit. Have fun.

I have secret stashes all over the west coast.....

they are called, yard sales :wink2:

Nice looking 895!!! That is on my must have list for sure LOL. For the allen, sometimes I have luck using the next larger opposite allen. IE. if its SAE use the slightly larger metric equivalent. It sometimes work if the bolt isnt stuck in. Might have to tap it with a hammer to get the allen key in and be real careful not to strip in once its in. But on occasion it works.

will give the larger allens a try tomarrow.

this saw came with a 24" bar and a new loop of oregon #9 1/2 .058

but that just didnt look right :(

had a NOS 36 Mac bar hanging on the wall and cut a loop of Dyna link 1/2 chain for it.

All ready to make sawdust or noodles now. :D

I absolutely know someone who would be ecstatic beyond belief with a 125!! :msp_wink:

No Way.. you found that one at a YARD SALE???? Who was the home owner Paul Bunyon?

although I have packed many yard sale saws home a buddy of mine had this one given to him.

It belonged to his freinds dad.

been trying to snag it from him for about a month now.

He needed a good work saw so I took this ole boat anchor in on trade. :msp_biggrin:

Yard Sale saws are usually poo-lans around here.

I found a 10-10 and a PM55 last year at a flea market, so they're out there. I also saw a couple of old 1-42s. This was an unusual flea market, had lots of farm equipment and power tools, etc. A man's flea market!

I was looking around and found a Super pro 125 coming up far sale soon. What is the desire level on this model?

How far would you drive to posiible get one near you?

Any value on them in fair to good condition?

Just trying to weigh my odds on the effort to get it if it works out.

Check FEEBAY for completed auctions to see the going price of one. Yes, drive over to get it...if you decide you don't want it after all....I will be glad to fund the trip! Just say what you need....beer, more beer, cash and beer.

I'd like one or three!
