Nice score Cliff, I have a few "really want" saws on my list including BP-1, 550 Super, and 795L. Well, I have a lot more than that as well including all the CP's, LG's, and a host of old saws I don't have yet, but the three listed would go a long way toward making me a happy man.

I am still looking for a 4-10 as well if anyone out there knows where one may be lurking.

I am greedy, I freely admit it.

Mark

Do I spy a late model replacement screen in the starter on the 795L?

How I love the look of the big McCulloch saws! A really nice saw for your collection Cliff - well done. I hope to be able to gather someof these Macs one day for my collection. Right now I am hunting around oz for an Australian built McCulloch 73A - 120cc's of old school power. It is always nice to see the big old Macs going to good homes.

Regards,

Chris

Might have to call on the McC gurus for this one

I was just given a Mac 3-25. It looks to be in good shape. The gentleman who gave it to me (I tried to pay, but he wouldn't have any of it) is clearing out some of his deceased father in laws stuff. He says he has used it before, last time was about 30 years ago :jawdrop: The only thing I see missing is the rubber cover for the spark plug access. If anyone has one I am interested.

Are there any particular pitfalls to working on this model? I am guessing the carb is one of them. Diaphragms are probably nonexistant. I would love to find a shop manual or owners manual for this model. For its age is seems to be a fairly complex machine.

This is going to be one of my winter projects, I'm looking forward to it.:greenchainsaw:

I have a good running model 73 and it is a strong beast for sure.

boda65 - Owners manuals for the 3-25 come up fairly regularly on e-bay and can generally be hand for a reasonable price. They are a bit unique as they have a full IPL as well as the normal owners manual information.

Let me know if you can't find one, I am pretty sure I have the IPL in electronic format.

The 3-25 is like nothing you've ever seen before, very unique carburetor setup, and rotary valve intake to boot. If you search AS I posted some photo's of one of mine taken down to show the works.

P.S. I know Hoss loves his 73, but it is a bit heavy and that spinning intake on the flywheel burned a hole through my chaps.:cry::cry:

I wish I could get my brother to post on here. Nice to meet you.

I've actually discovered since your visit that the cover from a super 44A will fit over that spinning flywheel cover. BTW Mark I know you are a big Mac fan, but I think you are gonna go gaga when you see the video of the Dolmar CT that came in recently from Belgium. Sounds like an old Hodaka dirt bike.
