This came in the other day. I have a 36 inch bar and chain for it too.:)

Nice saw! Good to see it in experienced hands. Imagine the kickback it could generate. Ron

Anyone know where I can get a set of springs for the starter pawls or maybe a whole clutch for this right hand 440? I'm missing both springs that are shown in this photo. Also on the saw in the pic you can see the crack in the pawl

Yep and it is workin great!! Were you able to weld the one I sent you? Thanks again!!

Glad to hear it's working and holding up for you.

The 'core' handle is still in two pieces as of this writing. I will have it welded up some time. I know it'll weld up good, and it will be clean before I even bring it into the shop to be welded.

BTW, go to Harbor Freight and pick up the cheap set of wire wheels... they look like this... 6 Piece Wire Wheel and Cup Brush Set

You can also order the stuff online and have it shipped to your house, if that's a better deal when gas usage, etc. are taken into account if you were to make a trip to the closest HF store. Don't think they're good, read the reviews... me, myself, and I am very happy with these cheap wire wheels, they are well made and you can't go wrong for that kind of money.

I used one of these wire wheels in my mini drill press and it makes short work of removing rust and stuff, so I assume it may do a very good job at removing the remaining foam stuff on your replacement handle bar. If you don't have a mini drill press, just clamp the bar into a bench vise that's fitted with your home made wooden pipe holding jaws, and use a regular hand drill. Either way will work.

Firewood season is almost here and I'm running behind. Kart saw is still in a million pieces, as is the SP70. :bang: ChainsawmanXX's SP81E project is boxed but I can't seem to get to the post office. I did do a little MAC related work today - I'm tired of tripping over saws so I built a few shelves. Organizing the parts will be next. Here are a few pictures. Ron

Ron - My son Jeff had a look at the photo's and says you have good taste.

Joey - PM me with something to trade, I have a few of the RH start clutches and can spare a complete one, save you the hassle of messing with the springs.

Last night I pulled a PM700 off the "in waiting" shelf, I've had this one waiting for a couple of years and thought I had all the needed parts rounded up by now thanks to 54Stude. I replace the fuel line, went through the carburetor, had to take the tank apart and rework a little to get a good seal, and found a 20" bar and chain to make it complete. I swapped the brake handle and spring off one the the clutch covers from Stude's boxes and found a clutch in the attic.

This morning I fueled it up and after 4 or 5 pulls it popped, one more and it's off an running. Only needed a little adjustment of the carburetor and one more saw ready to go. Maybe I can get a photo of this one in action when I stop by Modified Mark's tomorrow afternoon on my way across IN.

I'll be in OH at the end of the week, may have to try and make contact with some AS folk over that way depending on what develops for next week end.

Mark

Here is my next project I got this week, even though it won't need much work. It starts with a squirt of fuel but needs a little work. I was hoping it was an "A" model.

Thanks, I had to leave the runt behind, I've got too many projects as is. It's amazing to see this 44 in such good condition, I can't wait to get into this project

Saws or decor? Either way, thanks. With respect to saws, some say I need to branch out a little more. The classic AS dilemma: If I quit my day job, I would have more time for saws - but then I would have no money and I would have to sell my saws. Ron

Send all minimacs to Steve NW WI for service, he can build you a nice one. :msp_thumbup::msp_thumbup:

How did you get the fuel pickup in, or is that now an exclusive only for paying customers?

Neat way of storing saws. I may have to copy it some time down the road. Some nice looking saws.

Thanks. You can see I put the big boys out of the reach of children. Seriously, I had to leave plenty of head room to be able to put the 32" bar in the rack. Ron

We all have our weaknesses.* There are several white bars - all but the long one are for my 036Pro which I kept out of the picture. The 36" is saved for MAC 125 use should my supply of MAC bars dry up. Ron

*If it weren't for S***L's prices, I would have never discovered the joy of a 82cc MAC (much less a 123cc MAC) nor AS. Pricing 460s and 660s is what led to my first 82cc MAC which in turn led me to AS for help.

I like your set up Ron for storing your saws. Looks to be functional and pleasing to the eye. Much better than stuffed under the work bench:msp_thumbup:.

On a side note, last night I had a dream that I saw a tornado headed towards the house. So I took the wife and kids and went to an interior bathroom. After it passed I went outside to see how close it came, and saw it tore the roof off over the garage and water was dripping down through what was left all over my saws. And all I could think of was the corrosion this was going to cause. I then went to take a closer look at the saws and noticed the 797 was gone. What a crappy dream!!!!

I'm weldin the mailbox shut, and chaining off the end of the driveway now!

Fuel pickup was a bit of mind over matter, I lost my mind, then it didn't matter!

Going out to breakfast now, might see if it actually runs after the Packer game.

That's strange Brian. I had a dream that somebody gave me a 797!:D

Welding the mailbox won't matter. You'll still get plenty of boxes of McMisery on your doorstep! I'll be sure to bribe the delivery driver so he hops the chain.:jester:

Ron,

I didn't get the cut test done this weekend, but if the weather is good I will do it tomorrow. I got all three saws set up with similar bars and new chains. Only difference is the stock SP125 has a skip chain on it, as that is all I had left.

I tached out the three saws at WOT no load:

Stock 125C 123cc: about 9500 RPM. Was running a tad rich, but carb is fixed so I'm stuck with it.

101B stock bore 123cc: 11000 RPM

101B .050 over 130cc: 12800 RPM I didn't test it very long, because frankly it is scary holding this saw with one hand when it is running that fast and still 4 stroking.

I don't think there is any question who will win this race...... We will have results tomorrow.
