Had two extra chains with it and a carb kit.

Never been sharpened, but has been run.....maybe for a few minutes.
The deal included a 5-10 DSP in the same condition!

It needs a fuel system service for sure, I can push the primer button and it doesn't do anything.

Thanks Mark, PM coming your way.

Ok guys thank you for your help thus far! Here is a couple pics of the carb and a video to help you help me diagnose it's problem. I took the carb back apart and ever so gently peeled the thin rubber piece off the bottom carb plate which I was afraid to do the first time I had it apart. I cleaned it but didn't have any lemon juice to try to steep it back to life. I put it back together and now it will idel till you hold it wide open throttle and it's like it can't keep up, then closes off the gas flow gets real lean and dies. It will start back though. The carb in the pics is not like the 2-10 carb way back in this thread. the screws are not the same. Hope this give you guy's a better idea of what I'm dealin with.

Picked up this little gem today. 1955 model 47. Complete with the auger drive, spare drive gears, manuals, and parts book. Its going to need some cleaning, it has not be run since the 70's. but it turns over and the carb will pump gas.

Very cool when you find the whole set in the carrying box .....

cowroy - you have the two screw version on the 10 Series flat back, the H adjust is the screw head in front of the long needle affixed to the throttle shaft, the long needle on the thottle shaft is the low mix screw on that carburetor. Try turning the H jet another 1/4 to 1/2 turn open and see what happens when you throttle up.

Randy - the IPL is on it's way. Again, congratulations and have fun with that saw, they are something truely unique.

PM received, thanks Mark!

I can tell this saw is going to be something else. I'm really curious to see how a 28" bar with the Auto Mac chain will do in wood. I'm thinking a lot of dust, no wonder they needed to turn 12,000RPM!

I'm sorry to hear that, kid. Better luck next time, chalk it up to experience, chin up, all that jazz.

I took it out to cut small trees down in a field today and I got to say these little saws have some nutz. It seems quite capable for its size.

I need to make a runner out of the 110 now if it has a good cyclinder

Great find on the bp-1 watsonr. I got to check out Mark's on the weekend, and it is indeed a very unique saw.

I got a PM 1000.
It needs the carb cleaned and new fuel lines. Has good compression and spark.
I need to find a flywheel with starter pawls,Its missing one fin and one pawl.
I need an air filter and some screws too.
Anyone have any parts?

I got all the parts I needed to get this saw running.
Went to a old time McCulloch/Partner saw dealer and he had
everything I needed.:)

I saw he had lots of new fuel and oil caps so I got those too.
I was going to rebuild the carb, started taking it apart and saw it
was clean inside and the diaphram was still nice and soft.
So I put back on the saw and after a few pulls it was running.

Sweeet Cliff, Another nice saw up and running.
Doe's your saw guy have anymore fuel and oil caps.
I could use a couple of each.

Lee

Thanks Lee.
Yeah the guy has a bunch of them.
He has the oil caps in aluminum or plastic.

610 or 10-10A

I have a 10-10A I bought thanks to the enablers here. I have a chance to pickup a clean 610. The 10-10 starts first pull but the auto oiler is funny. Would it be worth it to trade or is the 10-10 a better saw overall? Don't need both as it will be for my neighbor as I have my stihls to keep me in woodchips.

thanks
Keith

If the 610 is really clean, I'd buy it and keep both. :hmm3grin2orange:

The 610 is built like a flat head V8, heavy and slow but it will run a long time. There are a few flimsy bits on them like the choke lever but they will cut wood.

10-10 saws are generally lighter, may be a bit faster even though they give up a few ccs', the 610 will be around 60 cc's and the 10-10 54 cc's.

If I had to choose one over the other, I'd go with the 10-10 as it will be lighter and nimbler. If you can manage, keep them both and use the 610 for the dirty and/or really heavy cutting jobs and the 10-10 for situations that require more manuverability.
