Sorry Cliff. I can see why you'd be wishing it was yours though. It sure is a looker. I'm thinking the two flywheel covers and starter ratchets are yours however. I recognize that bench top and cardboard from other pics.:D

Yep you got that right.:)

Converting 10-10 to electronic

So what would I need to convert my Pro 10-10A from points to electronic ignition? If any of you guys could point me in the right direction for parts and what I would have to do that would be awesome.

It would be very simple to use an aftermarket "chip" like a mega fire. But if you want to stay original Mac parts I think the coil mounts are slightly different, you can still do it though. The mega fires work great and I can buy them locally for $12 and nothing else is needed. If you already have an electronic coil that may be the way you want to go. You will also need a flywheel from a saw with the electronic ignition. I think those are the only two parts needed.

So it would be just a matter of installing the new mega-fire ignition module and a new compatible flywheel. Sounds easy enough. But it never seems to work out that way...

You won't need a different flywheel if you go with a mega fire. And yes, you can install the mega fire like the instructions say and that is all that needs to be done. If you use the mega fire, dont mount it within two inches of the coil. I've ruined several of them getting too close to the coil.

what does mounting the mega-fire require? Doesn't it go in a specific spot? Sorry if these are dumb questions, this is new territory.

Most of those chips only have one mounting hole, I mount it where the condenser was, under the flywheel. You don't use the condenser with the Mega Fire. Run the wires the same routing as they were before but follow the directions on where the wires end up.

Uh oh. Looks like the seasonal price swing has begun. It was real quiet the last three weeks, but in the last three days, everything's gone stupid or started there. Glad I jumped on that 125 when I did.
