Chowing down on an egg sandwich getting ready to do some work on the 2-10 and I noticed another possible bump in the road. When I swap the fuel tank covers I may have a issue with hand clearance between the handle bar and tank, the 5-10 tank cover is taller.:bang:

Solution: You're just gonna have to swap out that left hand for a smaller one. :hmm3grin2orange:

Heres it is all together, nice fit clearing the carb with the filter and everything. I have to cut down the H and L adjusting screws so they sit under the air filter. First im going to tap the idle screw in place.

I think it looks great.

Now quit playing with the toys. Time for something that begins with a 7 and doesn't include punctuation marks. Something where the size of the wrap handle is the least of your problems :hmm3grin2orange:.

Its a ?-10 , there is no definitive model, parts are from all over the place:hmm3grin2orange:

That's what it is. It's a ?-10.:D

Nothing wrong with tinkerin' with the 10-series saws. He'll graduate to the 700 series (or a 1-75/1-76...which are "close enough" although they do have a hyphen) and find out that it's not left hand clearance, but stretched/stinging fingers on his right hand that'll get his attention next. Remember that he started out on mini-macs (by choice)...:hmm3grin2orange:

Alright here is the height difference between the two. I can get my hand in there but probably not with a glove on.

well crap, i said i had the easy part and i can't even do that right. you would think i could supply you with the correct parts. i'll get a handle out monday. i may not have one with the coating, but i'll check.

I dont care what you guys say, i still like the mini macs!:msp_thumbup:

I got that idle screw in, its a little off the mark but looks like its working. Worst case scenario I can probably shimmy the carb around a bit to give me more adjustment. I cut down the H and L adjustment screws as well. Im going to go put some fuel in this thing and see where im at, after its working ill start looking for the manly saws you guys are talking about.:hmm3grin2orange:

P.S. tinkereing is changing a spark plug and adjusting a chain......give me a lil more credit then that haha:rock:

Joey, relax man. Its ok for now. Im sure ill be getting more stuff from you in the near future so just wait until then.

Aaron, why do you have laundry on your dashboard? :msp_confused:

That's a blanket. We get sunshine in Ca, and I don't want the original un-cracked dash pad on that old warhorse of a 1971 IHC 1210 3/4-ton 4WD 4-Door pickup (now THERE'S a project) to become cracked from da sun. Looking at the pic, I can see that the blanket has shifted and I need to move it a bit to protect the far end on the driver's side.:cool2:

Alright a few issues I need some help with....

The "?-10" fires right up, idles nice and revs good...without the airfilter or cover on. If i drop just the air filter on over the stud when its idleing the rpm's drop and it wants to shut off, if i lock the air filter on with the cover it doesnt want to run at all. If im starving it of air i guess I would be getting a to rich mixture at idle?

Joeymt33 this one is for you, after the above i cant get it started now. Was running good for almost 10 minutes and now toast, i think its that nova chip, you mentioned it being to close to the coil was an issue for you more then once. Does that mean i need a new one and then i move it or just move it and then it will be fine? I didnt check for spark but this thing fired and ran on the first pull so i dont think it would just go dead like that unless it was this issue.

Hey gang, cheap easy fix for fuel tanks. My 125 kart saw had a spider crack in the front. I dried it out for 2 days, then squirted some ThreeBond 1194 I use for gaskets through the cap in the general direction I wanted it to go. It does flow and I spent the next 5 minutes working it back and forth over what I wanted to patch, then let it sit for a couple days level so it wouldn't move off. It's held for 3 weeks now.

The saw will run richer with the AF and AF cover buttoned down. Set the saw slightly lean on the low side, then when you put the AF and cover on it should richen up and run right. It's trial and error.....

Cool beans Charles. Gonna try to seal a cracked 790 oil tank with some 1194. Got smacked on the front of the tank at some point, and there's a crack. I think the 1194 will hold so long as I can flush all the oil out of the crack with some carb/brake cleaner first. The 1194 I have is "Hondabond-4", and has "1194" right in the Honda part number. Just picked it up this afternoon (right after I got off the phone with Paccity).:D
