Not a classic 550, but guess it will have to do. Minty, and never touched up that we know of. Still has the remnants of the "read your owners manual" sticker on top.

More pictures later, the computer is actin weird.

Im a little late to the party, but WOW. that is awesome!!!!

Lowering the metering lever a bit can help. That's trial and error......and tricky. Does that carb have replaceable main jets like the fixed H-side SDC's? The IPL's for saws with fixed H-side SDC's list "optional jets". I'd just swap a fully adjustable SDC20 on the saw and be done with it....

Edit:

My SP105 IPL lists the 029 jet (#88771) as standard. 028 (#88772), 027 (#88781), and 026 (#88780) jets are listed as alternates. Not sure if this IPL matches your saw, or if the pictured/listed cab is an HS like yours or an SDC. This IPL is dated August 1973 and covers 600077A, 600077B, 600077D, and 600077J models with an 11 SN prefix.

Acres lists the carb as a HS124A. I believe that is what I have. I have a feeling that Santa Claus is going to fix my problem, lol. Check out the vid to hear this pig:

Whats a nice pro mac 10-10 worth? There is a nice looking one on craiglist for $125obo. Just wondering if I should take a closer look. I cant stop looking for chainsaws for sale!

Non-runner and complete = $20 tops.

IMHO, if it is VERY clean that price is at least in the area code. Average condition = $55 - $75.

Add $10 to each if a complete 10-10S.

Most of us do. :msp_tongue:

Yeah, yeah, rub it in. At least it ain't a new Government Motors polished turd that costs you when it shouldn't since you already paid for it with tax dollars.

What's your pickemupper? Hope it isn't a new GM...

I don't pay much more than $5 or $6 a piece and it is hit or miss on if they run or not but most run this also includes all the variants out to 82cc.

Cry not on my account my sweatpants wearing friend. I've stepped aside. Now you DO still have Paccity and probably others to compete with to win the hand of the fair RandyMac 797...

You must be lookin in the Homelite book, :msp_rolleyes:

Lee

................or the 1968, 1973, 1979, and 1982 MCCULLOCH pistons/ring/cylinders catalogs and the 795, 795L, 895, 797, and Super 797 IPL's I have don't list the numbers on Randy's 797 block. The DSP valve is visible in the pics, and I'm sure that block # IS in one of the many other 797 IPL's that I DON'T have. I have three or four 797 block numbers.....and Mac being Mac........I'm sure there are ten more. IIRC we've had this discussion before when somebody posted up their 797 (or S-797) block number.

Nice saw JP. Pig rich indeed. An SDC20 is what you should ask Santa for. Nice legs BTW...:D

Wow, some big words....... Lee drives a Ford BTW. I drive a GMC, so hate me.......

So why are GM trucks "polished turds"? Before this I had a Dodge, and there was nothing but problems with it. My 2008 GMC has been the best truck I have ever owned. I like to buy American, but I am by no means brand loyal. The fact that the government owns GM doesn't bother me as much as the Chinese owning them. If this happens, I won't buy GM's at all.

Actually, the thing that bothers me most about the bankruptcy is that the unions got all their money, but the shareholders got screwed. It was the unions that drove GM into the ground in the first place, not the shareholders.

They had square wheel wells from the beginning... and amplified it for the newest ones... looks stupid, IMO. Let's not get started on the boxy look. And you're right about the unions that ####ed everything up...

As for GM trucks being polished turds, I exempt anything from the "angry headlight" years and back. Love the 215,000 mile 97 Burb we have... still doesn't burn oil.

Uncle of mine has a 2003 Sierra, 220,000 and counting.

I'm fairly sure by the time you put that many miles on your GMC, all kinds of things will start breaking/going bad on it. And most of the crap on it is expensive electrical components and sensors... I forsee a very light wallet when that happens.

The auto industry has completely abandoned the KISS law. The simpler, the better. (like our old Macs)

Did you know that there are something like 150+ computers on your truck? Don't forget the on star... ever think someone else is watching that closely, besides on star folks? And it probably could be shut down by the someone else with a big red button as on star is an entire network... thus disabling every single vehicle equipped with it...

Ford would've been a more American purchase for a 2008 or newer truck (or car or minivan, whatever)... Chrysler/Dodge and GM are both government owned, and that alone is enough to disgust me and many others.

Back to Macs... anyone here happen to be the one that won the metal 10 series auto oiler pump? I'll double your money... don't really want to spend 14 bucks on another plastic non cleanable one like the one I currently have.

Here is a guard that will work, Just need to drill one hole to fit your bar.
The guard is 7 1/4 inch long.
