It pulls over easy and smooth I you pull slow with the decomp pushed in. But if you yank on it with the piston at BDC, it will make you pay. I do have to reset the decomp if it doesnt start on the first pull. Maybe that's why it broke the rope, the decomp may have prematurely popped out. All I know is, that thing sounds sweet and torques in my hands when I throttle it. I can't wait to make some cuts. I got to travel to Charlotte NC for the next few days so I won't be able to cut until the weekend.

I have a saw that you have to hold the de-comp button in while you pull the rope or it pushes it back out before it starts..don't know if it's too much compression or a weak de-comp.

When the decomp valves wear out they'll do that. One of the McCulloch Shop Manual supplements states that if the DSP valves won't stay open when cranking (without a 'pop') then they need to be replaced...

Not sure this is a Mac as it starts first pull  Clean raw mag handle supper 33

Ripped the starter rope out of my MM6. I did exactly what you would do with any other saw to fix the starter rope, ripped the saw apart and transferred the engine to another case with a good recoil!:dizzy: Piece o cake:msp_wink:

I don't mind these saws but whoever designed them had one to many PBR's at the time!

Yeah, I ripped the starter rope out of a MiniMac once, well actually to be honest physics ripped the starter rope out. I believe this was due to the high rate of centrifugal force caused by swinging it by the starter rope prior to smashing it on the concrete of my driveway.

I'm glad to see you found that MM6 to be more useful.

Hey Emperor Randy...

Would that pile of 10-10 parts happen to have a good handle/tank assembly for a certain 70cc class yeller saw? If you wonder why I ask, it's because Yellow Fever hit again and I bought this... along with that silver/black contraption behind it...

Owner said it runs fine... but then the handle got broken. Looked at it once and knew it had to come home. Taking the air filter cover and filter off shows a very clean carb box. Got this one for what I call cheap given it was a runner.

Today went very well. Happy day!

Also got 90% of the remaining stuff I need to put the 790 together. Just need to find those 1/2" lower transfer plugs. Went to the best known local hardware store and they didn't have it. Looked online at Fastenal and it doesn't look like they have it either.

If anyone needs some fine thread bar nuts for the big Macs, let me know... I picked up a box of 100 for real cheap at the aforementioned hardware store. I can afford to let some of these bar nuts go. :)

Wayta go, Kyle ... Yellow Fever is gaining a stronger foothold.

Is that a 14SB in the background? What'd you get hit up for it?

It is getting a hold of me again...

And yes, 14SB. Got her for 40 bucks. Something wrong with the engine, but that's fine... I need the deck. I think I will be saving the rest of the parts as well as spares.

Yeah, now I got to piece all the left over/broken parts back into another MM6. I see someone had that mini apart that you gave me, it would have never ran with the way it was put back together:biggrinbounce2:

Dennis,
The one I sent you gratis (including shipping) was given to me by a guy I work with. It has never gone through the "centrifugal" stress test..........oh by the way.........you're welcome.........:tongue2:

I'm not complaining, i'm just stating what i've seen. The only way for me to better myself repairing these work of art's is to go through them and visualize how ####ed up they are. I just fixed the saw and its running right now....in my head of course:dizzy:

Some of the older ones don't have the throttle latch.

Is one really needed, and yes if it is a AV saw you will need a AV tank, I should have mentioned that, here is a pic of my CP70 that I bolted a PM850 power plant into.

The PM850 had a operator presence lever on it and the CP70 did not and you can't even tell.
