Hey All,

I have a Homelite 750, any idea what would be a reasonable Mac to trade it for?

Love to think a 797 or 125 but is it really only worth a 805 or similar?

Don't really want to go through the Ebay process...

Any thoughts?

Hmmmm .... my thought would be a 125 or better.

... because 750 parts aren't very easy to get.

I have one for parts too, engine is junk though.

I thought the 125 is the "Holy Grail"...by better do you mean the Super 797?

I wouldn't trade a Mac 125 for a Homie 750. They weigh about the same but the Mac has way more power.

It all depends on the condition of your 750.
To me, The 797 or Super 797 are the Mac
holy grails. The 125's are everywhere and
have a very wide margin for pricing. Some
sell high for now reason and others sell way
low.

Well the other day I was digging around at the scrap and found a 10 series engine block with a nice muffler on it so I picked it up, I always look at the top of the cylinder for the tale tale sign of a decomp and this did not have one that I could see but I picked it up anyway just for the muffler, total cost $2. Tonight I pulled the muffler to put in the parts bin and got curious since the piston was free and clean to see exactly what I had so I measured the bore, yep 2.06 another 82cc engine, looked and noticed some holes on the side of the cylinder and I am assuming that that is for the DSP valve which I have never seen. I will post some pics tomorrow my phone camera is bad with low light.

Sounds like the later model with the decomp on the side. Like the DE80, PM800, etc.

Thanks guys for the opinions...

Being new here, is the Swap Meet thread the way to go? Or should I just Ebay them?

Yep. And with many of the PM800 saws, the hole is only used for the muffler brace bolt. The DSP port isn't drilled..................and if it is drilled you'll need to find the scarce 'course thread' DSP valve for it....

Ron, it looks like I need to hollar at you when I get the ole 166 runnin right. :msp_biggrin:

Sure, I was thinking the same thing. Everyone else but you and Lee can stop reading here:msp_wink:. ********** The 166s have got to be the coolest sounding saws ever videoed :msp_wub:. I assume that they don't disappoint in hand. Ron

It'll be interesting to see what this 895 goes for. Seen some ebay auctions go to silly levels lately. So far this one hasn't taken off. A fellow with some spares (wrap handle and bracket, flywheel cover, muffler) could end up with a nice 895 for not much invested.........providing this auction doesn't get stupid. I'm not affiliated with the seller.....etc etc etc. I think he's an AS member however.
