Aaron, found nice full wraps, with mounts, have bolts, couldn't found the nuts that go with them. Have the "skid" plate and short driveside cover, with complete brake.

paccity, I have a long driveside cover, has some of the brake parts on it, no brake handle, you will need an adjuster.

Sounds great Randy. Much appreciated. This project is coming together. I can source those nuts and whatever other fasteners we'll end up needing locally.

I'm going to have to scare up a bar and chain for this saw as we get closer to completion. That's still a ways off. Gotta clear off the bench and tear this old warhorse down.

Do you have a spike set for these? I can rob one off of my 'project' SP-81 for the time being.

What brand and type of 2 stroke oil do you guys use? someone gave me a bottle of snowmobile/dirt bike 2 stroke oil and i am wondering if it would be good for chainsaws aswell? What ratio do you guys use in you're older saws? such as 50s and up.

I have 2 jugs and they get mixed for everything. Klotz R50 and 100LL at 32:1 (easier math). No issues. Your mileage may vary.

Mac 610 questions

Going through my new to me Mac 610, cleaning her up and getting familar with her.

I have one screw that just does not want to come out.
I soaked the screw with some "knocker loose" hopefully that will work, as I do not want to strip the flat screw head.
What do you do, when you get a screw that just does not want to come out?

Also, is ther a IPL, owners manal, any info at all that I can get from you?

Thanks..

put screwdriver on it and give it whap with the handle of another screwdriver. Did that twice today, works well enough.

Which screw is stuck?

I have one of the hand held impact drivers, give it a twist in the direction you want the screw to move and give it a whack with a hammer, almost fail proof for removing stuck screws.

Only issues I ever had were the cheap screws someone installed using JB Weld on an SP70 tank top, broke the head off everyone just a cleanly as if I'd cut them off.

The screw is the one on the left bottom, I am trying to take the left side cover off so I can do some cleaning.
I tried the tapping with the hammer, using a bar wrench and a cheater bar... all no luck.

I will have to get me one of those impact screwdrivers.

Those were installed with medium strength thread compound. They can be a little tough to remove. Maybe heat will weaken the thread compound.
