those are nice words from you stihl sawing!

Ande even better (for you) that this little one is running now. Hope you won't have any more problems with it!

Have fun with your tree:clap::biggrin:

SS I'm glad you where able to stand up to that saw and show em who's the boss. I was about ready to make my way to your place to assist you with this little gem. Glad it's going now. I think you need your LA set about oh 6-7 turns out. It keeps the gas flowing good that way. The smoke is good. Helps keep those pesky skeeters down.

PS.
What is up with your name being all red and a line through it??

Thanks, I was ready to let someone have it to fix. Still don't understand the flooding thing. I tried to start it like all my stihls.

The red username and line is a stupid mistake by me.lol I spent some credits for them. The red i wanted but i thought the line was going underneath the username, Not through it. Guess i'm stuck with it for a month.

But you stihl gots a purdy mouth...... :D

Rick,lots of times when I have one flood the only way it will start is to either loosen or pull the muffler.It seems like when the muffler gets gas in it it just takes forever to dry out and untill it does it won't even pop.Why they flood sumetimes and not others is a mystery,maybe something got under the needle or something.

SS you need to apoligize to that little 250 for threatining to trade it for a husky that just wasn't right

What I usually do is take the plug out and crank it over serveral times to dry it out never tryed turning one upside down

I did that several times too. I dunno. Next time i will know to turn it upside down and shake the heck out of it.

The only thing that will keep it from flooding in the future is to let me take it off your hands. :msp_rolleyes: Glad you get to put er to work today...:clap:

I just worked on one of these the tank vent was pinched. I got it running good again and gave it back to the owner today. He called me up so I went over and he had it flooded. I just put the switch on idle and held the throttle open with my foot and keep pulling it will eventually start. This just airs it out with the choke off and the throttle wide open.
1 thing I noticed about it is sometimes you have to put it on fast idle or warm choke to restart it when warm if you leave it sit for a few minutes even. When started it runs great tho. The owner is a older guy I just think he has issues turning it over fast enough sometimes also.

Did you try to jump start the saw instead of pulling 50 times? Usually 20' of rope behind the pickup at 60 mph gets em to fire :msp_wink:

Did you ever figure out the flooding issue? I have a ms170 that I use for recutting my firewood, it is experiencing the same issue. This saw has been so good I would hate to throw it out, but the dealer wants like $200 to fix it and for that kind of money I can get another one off of craiglist.
