But of course Mr. SawTroll, quite the gentlemanly bunch around here but I did have a singular temporary doubt about you-know-who.... we-all-know-who... goodness me, even he-knows-who ha ha ha ha ha

What does one do now about my double dawgs with roller chain catcher requirement etc?

Help please.........:dizzy: :help:

Remember that there's a link to another thread which covers the double dog kit (with a link to yet another thread within) way back at post #12 of this thread. Here's the quick-n-dirty for you if you don't feel like doing anymore reading:

1)Give your dealer the Stihl part # (1135 650 7750).

2)Ask him to order said part #.

3)Pay Dealer.

4)Install double dog/roller chaincatcher kit when it comes in.

5)Smile and have Guiness.

Thanks Mr. Eccentric,

but I did proceed as per the steps you outlined (and following on the excellent info on here) and things were going well through steps one and two but the dealer interrupted progress, saying the part was not available.

No more steps ha ha ha

you could ask one of these fine helpful stihl dealers/mechanics who replied to your thread to hook you up with the bits you need....

Tried out the 390 today for a few mins..... So far so good!!!

I'm very grateful to y'all here for the advise and even to grumpy ol' THALL10326 HA HA HA

I phoned the dealer (yes THALL10326, imagine that, me phoning the dealer!!), just to let him know that the saw seemed fine. He explained in detail that there probably was old fuel in it when it left the shop. I didn't ask how long they had it in the shop!! So after cleaning the carb and providing a good sharpening free of charge, all's well! I didn't want to get in to the whole discussion about it leaving the dealer in that state.

They also say there's no "double dawgs with roller type chain catchers" available in Ireland. Actually, I was disappointed to learn from the discussion that they didn't even know about wrap around handles!

Who you calling grumpy you low life heathen, you you uhhhhhhhhh give me a second , I got it, you impatient scrondrel, hahaha, just messing with ya, glad ya saw is doing good now. Learned how to use the phone did ya, I'm proud ya now Tom,LOLOL

ohh ohh

fee fi fo fum....

here comes....

The THALL10326...

run everyone!!

Oh those phones Mr. THALL10326, way too many buttons for me to manage by myself, just like those pesky household appliances "her indoors" is always banging on about!!!!

Though in fairness, She did offer to by me a 660 (pandering to my milling intentions) as a wedding prezzie so, and I suspect she is, when she comes on here looking for info, pls don't let me down now by recommending a husky.... I bought you a Husky 'coz it's a nice colour says she ha ha ha ha

Read the whole thread,,,,

Actually, Mr. tree_beard, it's funny you should mention it but I have just emailed a UK company called QualityTools to check availability and cost of the double dawgs with roller chain catcher and I even supplied them with a part number, thanks to Eccentric.

So i'm hoping for a favourable reply soon thanks.

unless the double dogs of a 066 will fit, i doubt you will get what you need in the u.k. every stihl (and husky, and jonsered) dealer i have been to in the u.k has been rather slack, especially when it comes to non-standard additional gubbins (like double dogs, and full wrap handles). there is very little market for such items in this part of the world.

your best bet really is shopping across the water, in the land of muffler mods and wrap handles

I wouldn't put a dog on the chain cover unless you replace it with the magnesium version, but that's just me (..oh yes, and Stihl).

How is your visit to "grumpy ol' Thall" going - is he really that grumpy...:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Now now then Mr. SawTroll, one gets the impression that you are winding up my bestest buddy Mr. THALL10326 and me.... So unfair ha ha ha ha

And yeh, Mr. Lakeside53 is spot on I reckon... If I can't get the double dog with roller chain catcher in Ireland, and my dealer hasn't even heard of wrap around handles, what's the chance they don't have a MAG cover also? LOL LOL LOL
