Gotcha, having a few Hi Life's myself today.

hey guys. i know this isn't the right place but too god of a deal for somebody to pass up if your in the area. too far far for me:censored:
Poullan chainsaw - Oshawa / Durham Region Other Tools For Sale - Kijiji Oshawa / Durham Region Canada.

Thats a good deal for sure, hopefully someone is near it. Fossil near there?

S25 cva

Am I seeing things? It looks like the oil tank vent on the S25 CVA I am rebuilding is a cotter pin??!! It seems like it weeps oil if the saw is rolled onto it's side. Is this OK / normal?

Also, I discovered these saws have a reed valve between the carb and the crank case. Do I need to do anything to this valve prior to reassembly?

Thanks!

BTW, if anyone has a repair manual I would really appreciate it.

Well the old 395 is gradually coming together. The latest is this chain brake from one of our fellow members who was kind enough to offer it to me. I you know I was thrilled, and I had to also get a case for it now to keep it in since it keeps getting better all the time.

Mark, It's in Fossil's garage right now. Remember my loving wife said it was time for a new saw for me to play with?
Just eating dinner, roast pork, cauliflower with cheese sauce and a baked potato. ( She made that too.)

Pics to follow.

Most are left handed.
Let me check and get back to you.

I may have a 3400 handle with complete rubber left in the bin. If you want it holler.

Cant remember if I gave it to the guy that was here from NY getting parts or not.

Yep that cotter pin is the vent. Old saw, they did things different back then and it works.

I should have that manual if you need it.

Wrong thread for those great Pioneers but here's a link to a repair manual that covers both those units.

The service manual says its a right hand thread, so it comes off like normal.
