P41 & P50 sprocket change, nut is right hand thread correct?
I am switching sprockets on a P41 & P50 and want to know which way to turn clutch nut to remove? counter clockwise to remove? i have a PP455 block and both the flywheel side and clutch side are righthand thread.

someone let me know please

thanks

Should be the same as my PP405 and 655. Lefty loosey-guess that's a right handed thread,

Poulan S25da/cva issue

Thought I'd run my small Poulans as its been over a year. Well the three that I have bars and chains for run and idle ok but the chains keep turning. NOt fast but you can't take a screwdriver and stop the chain. Can all three need new clutches? Don't dare lower idle any more as saw may stall. Can't find the flat springs nor the clutches anywhere to experiment.

Bob, take one apart, make sure its all clean, lube the bushing or bearing on the sprocket and flip the clutch springs over and see what happens.

Dont surprise me any!

How many breaks did you end up taking on that big of one? :ices_rofl:

Well, I'm saying the saws needed rest and I was good to go. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

In all actuality we had 9 others there and all I had to do was run saws, had plenty of 19-22 year old farm boys for dragging, splitting, and stacking......

Finally getting to cut

Going to Vermont next month to cut. My brother is having his 300 acres logged and there a ton of tops to buck up for firewood. All hardwood; sugar maple, ash american beech, etc. Vermont forestry walked the plot marking trees to improve the forest. I'll be using my MS 260, 346XP and Poulan 3000 as I don't think there will be any tops more than 6-8 in. across. Will be interesting to see how the saws compare to each other. Just hope the snow isn't too deep.

Yep, I saw those as well, after I posted the other link. That's Bryce, right? He always seems to have some really cool :msp_thumbup: Poulan (& other brand) parts.

Mark beat me to it, but I agree, that sure sounds like the best way to cut firewood ;).

Suger creek supply/Joe Salva is the one who made those decals that Bryce is selling. I and some others were involved in those 5200 sets while the 306, 245 and S25cva sets were mostly made from my saws.

Mark, is it better to deal directly with Joe for stickers, or is it six of one, a half dozen of another? I mean no slight to Bryce, his (and Joe's) rep among the Poulan Posse is solid.

The ones bryce is selling look like OEM NOS decals. Compared to the copies SC made.

5200 copies and then look at the ones on bay bryce is selling. IF they are oem nos I would grab those first if it were me.

Let me know if the 5200 copied decals pic shows for you guys.

Trust me there not NOS there repops. Look at the instuction decal and how its not straight on the one side, it was a ##### to get a photo of that one up on the tank, the handle is in the way to get a good picture. Joe did a great job on those with what he had to work with.

Besides Poulan never sold them in sets.
