Poulan 4900 Cylinder

Seems Like Someone Was Looking For One Of These.
One NOS Poulan 4900 Cylinder Just Came Up On Ebay.

The 2000 I just won is magnesium. I can see it in the pics. She's missin some paint.:chainsaw:

From the pics, I think that the Craftsman has the 2300 engine. It's not a 2300 saw though. The part number says it was supposed to have a 14" bar and a 32cc engine. My saw has a 16" 3/8" lo pro and a 38cc engine. It looks just like a 2000.

The only Poulan that I could find that had the same specs was the XXV Deluxe.
I'm hoping the only difference is the P/C.

This is my saw.

I'm very happy to show the latest addition to my collection. Brad was nice enough to trade this 4000 for that table. I just did a few test cuts today but I really like the way this saw runs! I've never run one stock but in Brad's video it looked to run quite well. Now it's on a different level. I see why these older Poulans are so popular with some people. I can't wait to take it down to cut some wood. Thanks again Brad!

broke my heart when that saw left Ohio. So you know, that saw will hand a stock ms361 it's ass. The bigger the wood, the harder it bites! You'll love it.

3 S25s

Well in addition to the one S25 in awesome shap I got on CL I got 2 more from the guy. Ill post pics later. One is being sold to a guy at work, one I'm keeping. The other is up for grabs I think. I got them late last night so I haven't really checked them yet.
Good to see the "361 killer" back again too!

HAAAAY! That's my masterpiece!:chainsaw:
Why do you guys keep teasing me about my piper!?

Hey, just kidding about the pipe...have it any way you want! By the way, I have a weedeater with a pipe very similar to your chainsaw pipe. Mine's aluminum and made of square tubing, which is probably worse. I was practicing aluminum welding.

The pipe was a joke!
I hacked a piece off a broken mirror bracket off my truck and JB welded it onto the inside of the muffler. I found my Craftsman at a garage sale for $5. It was semi dis assembled and some muffler pieces could not be found.
I actually used the saw on a few jobs which is why I glued the pipe on. First, to protect the cylinder a little bit, and second, to get a laugh outa the guys. I used it for stuff like, to trim the roots of a stand of trees that I dug through to set a foundation for a detached garage. The home owner refused to remove any trees and ordered me to dig right through the roots.:monkey: I used my $5 saw for that one. Also, the pipe was punishingly LOUD!!!:chainsaw: I cut through those roots at about 7:45am to make my angst about the whole thing noted! There were chuckles!

I found a match by the way.
As near as I can tell, my Craftsman is a Poulan Pro 180 or 190.

I sooped up my Poulan Pro pole saw today.
I bought it for an ornamental apple tree job a couple years ago. It's still almost new. It barely cut and I almost took it back.
Since I have my Craftsman in pieces and have a 2000 coming, I stole the carb and fitted it to the pole saw. I gutted the muffler also.
I must say, even though the reed bounces a lot, the saw revs quick and is totally usable now. I just need to figure out a choke. I have the primer bulb shooting into the throat of the carb and it works, but it takes a long time for the gas to evaporate afterwards. It runs rich for 5 minutes or so and then clears up. Hopefully I don't catch on fire.

3 Super 25's

Here they are. The one good one was worth what i paid for all of them. So heres what we have
1 mint XXVDA low hours high compression, started second pull cold.
1 hacked early model good engine, but he custom ran a fuel line and ruined a nice recoil:censored: also no kill switch:censored:
1 in good shape with a toasted. p&c.
heres my question Mark, nick, Mike, Gregg, Will a 2.1 P&C bolt onto a 2.3 crank? Id like to pull the P&C from the old saw on the left (Im assuming its a 2.1 since it has the red trigger) and put it in the middle saw which the PO didnt touch.

Joe,

Reviewing several of the IPL's (thank you again Mark) It seems like the crank and con rod are the same, while the piston and cylinders are different.

That leads me to believe that the p/c's are interchangeable and the bore diameter is the factor responsible for the power and cc increase.
I'm sure that Mark will be able to refute or confirm this when he shows up.

Mike
