Joe,

Reviewing several of the IPL's (thank you again Mark) It seems like the crank and con rod are the same, while the piston and cylinders are different.

That leads me to believe that the p/c's are interchangeable and the bore diameter is the factor responsible for the power and cc increase.
I'm sure that Mark will be able to refute or confirm this when he shows up.

Mike

That's what I was thinkin. Maybe it is a 2.3?

Nope, sliding on/off switch is a sure sign of a 2.1 saw.

Yes the 2.1 cyl will transfer to the other, but check to see that the coil will swap from a point ign cyl to a electronic ign cyl and vice/versa.

I was told they won't but I'm not so sure of it and don't have one of each to compare right now.

This one?

I wish!

They got the chain brake first?
What's the difference between the XXV Deluxe, 2000, 2300av and the Poulan Pro 190? Seems like with Poulan changing hands, that's the model everyone kept.

S XXV deluxe or Micro XXV deluxe? 2000=33cc 2300=38cc Pro 190=38cc chrome cyl............

You forgot the 1800 and the 2300CVA among others.

(Nice saw Gregg! I see that one is a little different than mine. Is that the stock muffler?) pastryguyhawaii

No, its a super duper modified muffler, courtesy of ModifiedMark!!!

It kind of resembles the muffler used on the bigger Poulans. It runs and sounds great, just havn't cut with it since adding the muffler. Been to much snow, now to much mud & water with warmer temps this week.

Here is a closer look:)

Gregg,

Well the Poulan Pro 475's arrived today! Not much time to get into them much but the runner aint bad, and the parts saw looks pretty much there, and the cyl looks like it can be cleaned up and it can probably be put back together sometime.

The runner is a little low on compression and the piston has a little scoreing on it, but I'm guessing the cyl is good to go on it. I think I will probably tear it down for a piston, rings, and some general going over on the fuel system, vac test etc.

To busy for pics but will try to get some in the next couple of days.

Mark,

Glad you finally got the 475"s. Have you had a chance to try one out yet. I am anxious to see how you think it compares to some of your other Poilans. If you decide you don't like them they would look good with my 2077.

Here they are. The one good one was worth what i paid for all of them. So heres what we have
1 mint XXVDA low hours high compression, started second pull cold.
1 hacked early model good engine, but he custom ran a fuel line and ruined a nice recoil:censored: also no kill switch:censored:
1 in good shape with a toasted. p&c.
heres my question Mark, nick, Mike, Gregg, Will a 2.1 P&C bolt onto a 2.3 crank? Id like to pull the P&C from the old saw on the left (Im assuming its a 2.1 since it has the red trigger) and put it in the middle saw which the PO didnt touch.

Looks like Greggs I think?

I'm affraid I'm not much help to ya Joe, when it comes to these saws. I have 3 of them, all the larger ones. I don't know if cyl & pistons can be swaped or not. If I had to guess, I would say yes..lol Mike & Mark know more about these than me.
I just recently had one apart for the first time, was leaking oil from bottom of the case. Replaced all gaskets, and checked it out. And yes, that one deluxe 25 does look like one of them I have. Must be about same vintage, yours might be a tad older, by the color schem on the decal. :)

Well no I have not run it and don't intend to till it comes apart and gets freshend up and put back together.

I like to compare apples to apples and there is no 77cc Poulan to really compare it to that way. The 4900 at 77cc was discontinued almost 10 years before this saw was introduced. If there was a Poulan to compare it to they wouldn't have had to this rebadged Poulan Pro!

Honestly at first glance I'm not overwhelmed at the construction of it. Kinda funky so far and lots of plastic, so I don't think there is a good comparison to be made with the older all mag saws.

I could compare it to my 10 year newer Husky 575XP but I don't think thats a good comparison either. I guess it is what it is.

Not knocking it at all, just don't know much about it yet.

I actually started a new thread on them so maybe I could get some opinions from the the Jonsered/Partner guys also.

The Micro, I was looking at.
Don't they all have chrome cylinders?
I guess mine is a 2300cva without the chain brake?
I hope I can build my new 2000 with my 2300 parts.

YAWN!!
NIGHT NIGHT!!

YAWN!...Mornin'.

I meant 2300AV. Sorry....Sorry!:dizzy:
So when I get my new 2000, the plan is, it'll be fitted with my 2300AV P/C...Either that or I'll just use the green aluminum to fix up my red saw. And I'll put a proper muffler on it. No more chrome pipe...Promise.
Hopefully all the parts will fit. Theres only about 8 different versions of this saw!

My plan, a couple ideas

The saw torn down on the left is a good running high comp 2.1. The saw in the middle is a 2.3 with a scored P&C. On the right is a basket case craftsman scored P&C. Now I was thinking of just bolting the handle, tank and base from the 2.3 on to the 2.1. Then i looked at the 2.3 and thought mmaybe its salvageable with some sanding and rings? If thats the case Ill rebuild the 2.3 and use the good parts from the craftsman on the 2.1 block. That way Ill get 2 saws instead of 1. Whats the best source for rings for a 2.3? I have NO Poulan dealers. What you guys think?
