Look at hotspot's post on skf 6119 seals, Google it and you will find crossover numbers for the same seal.

Looking at the 6119 seal I wonder if that lip will cause a problem.

Bob,
Those seal pictures are only "typical", and not the actual seal being sold. Laziness in the sales or product management folks causes them to do that...I can take pics of both, side to side, when I get off work tonight.

Working on the 5200 and this falls out of the carb mounting area when I flip the saw over. What is it?

Looks like it could be the grommet that might go around the throttle rod. Lots of Homelites have them. Just a guess

I put two 6119's in that red saw I'm trying to get going. They look exactly like the national seals. I will likely stay with them as they are a couple of dollars cheaper here than the national seals.
Incidentally, that saw does have a carb issue I'm trying to work through, so Roger and you were right. The seals did look a little hard so I'm glad I changed them out.
I'm thinking I may have to give in and get a usc.

That looks like a lil bumper, need a different view of it, hard to tell what it is.

I agree, it does look like a bumper of some sort, i will keep it in a safe place and see if someone can figure out what it may be.

5200 is going back together tonight, it is Key lime instead of Sub Lime though, I ran out of Sub Lime on my 4200 so next time i get a batch of the good stuff i may hit it again.

Now that I look at the photos, the SKF 6119 on the left stands out as a better quality seal. Scary what details you can see in a pic, and not notice when you're installing the seals. Pics are outer, inner, & backed off...sorry that that bit of SXLAO Homelite writing bling got into the Poulan thread, but they do share the same seal on one side.

Tim I have a L&R that bought used and a Harbor freight that I bought new. The H F one is cheaper cost wise and I have found it to do just fine. I use regular ole dish soap all the time with hot water. I run it for about 12 minutes. Then I rinse it under the kitchen faucet and blow it dry with about 15 to 20 psi. You can also use some carb cleaner in that process if you want and I done that before also. That is what works for me.

Even in my part time job I use that same process and have done many carbs there.

It was funny because the first time I asked for dish soap they just kinda of went huh. Now it is all they use.

I hope I will find safe harbor here :).

Last week my mid-90's era WildThing developed issues running. I decided it was time to toss it so went and bought a new Stihl MS251. But the cheapskate in me couldn't bring myself to actually tossing my old friend so tore it apart and found all it needed was new fuel lines. So for $10 I had it back running and it runs great! To be honest it feels more natural to hold it than my Stihl although that is mostly due to owning the WildThing for so long.

Anyway...my Stihl will become my main firewood saw for bucking logs but the WildThing will be used for various cutting tasks. I'd like to get a new 16" bar and chain as I've been told it will cut better and faster if I go to a 16" bar. Any recs for a good deal on a bar + chain combo for this saw?

Ouch. No need to rub it in. I'm still working for the man.

Yes I just retired about 1 year ago now. So I love my saws even the wild things and blow them out and wipe them down when finished using them. Plus I have about 30 Poulans and they get rotated. That does not count the Stihls, husqvarna, Jonsered, and Dolmars I have.

This is some wood I got today.
