A week or two ago I posted about picking up a Craftsman branded, powersharp equipped 20 and an Allis Chalmers 25DA. I just now got the photos uploaded.

Here's the 20:

Those are really nice old saws aint they. I really like the red Poulan? made for craftsman. That one looks like it is in great shape. If I were not so intimidated by the fear of having to work on something so small ,I would like to own one. I just sold a Mini Mac because so many said it was horrible to work on. So scardy cat me sold it I suck so baddd. Jeff

First time I've seen that style of "muffler" on a 25. Original?

And there are two seasons on the Poulan thread...good and bad..., often interchanged and confused with one another depending on which way the wind is blowing and who's the biggest a$$hole on any given day...occasionally multiple times in any given day.

Mark and Kevin have been at it for a while now. Ain't gonna change until they both chill some ego and attitude relative to everyone else in the world of Poulan (not to mention each other)..., of which there are many of us.

I've been fortunate enough to have met em both, and I like em both. Coupla great guys..., and ornery guys who know their stuff. My kind o' no BS men. No debate there.

But..., it seems like there's room for both of em to still grow up a little bit and keep their petty sparring on the side since the world of Poulan will still go on and survive without em in spite of what each may think..., just my humble opinion, fellas. Oh..., and a fact.

We're either here to help each other and learn from each other, or not.

And most days the weather is good around here.

No personal offense intended toward either of my friends, Mark and Kevin.

Just sayin'....

Well Pogo, I think I know what your trying to do. That said I think I am offended by it and I don't think you know as much as you think you do about it either.

If I'm perceived to have a ego over standing up for my self over getting called a liar the other day, for saying I don't think the Poulan thread is a place for a non regular Poulan thread poster to come begging for antique parts, then so be it.

I think I'll just keep Jeremiah Jerkoff on ignore and when he gets tired of following me around but not getting any replies, he will just get tired of it and go back to his site where he can post questions in new threads, just so he can provide the answers to them.

I have no skin in this game, but why can't people come here and ask for parts? Seems logical if you need Poulan parts or advice you come to the Poulan thread. Individual participants can decide if they are inclined to offer parts and/or advice to those who are inquiring.

No ego here so no offense taken Pogo. As you notice others do.

Now go and show us how to convert a 5020 to .325 pitch. I dare ya. LOL

Just to show you where all the nit picking started by those other folk in 2013. They dared me to find a .325 set up for a poulan 5020. It took me all of 5mins to find, then install and test cut with on my Chainsaw Repair site.
After that embarrassing moment he hasnt been back :laugh:. I have to say I am glad too. We dont put up with such belittling of members there like they do here.

Bingo and then dont put them down in the mean time.:bowdown:

I rest my case.

What I was trying to do was be polite about conveying my disappointment in seeing such an arrogant and juvenile display of behavior by someone I had a helluva lot more respect for yesterday than I do today. No skin in this game either...except my own ass risking being shredded for taking what I hoped was a diplomatic position to diffusing tension and tossing a subtle hint toward, oh, I dunno, YOU?

But you think you know what I'm trying to do...and think your (you're) offended...and don't think I know as much as I think I do....

Awful lot o' thinkin' goin on there by someone who doesn't really seem to do much of it in the first place.

May wanna loosen up them suspenders a little bit and get some oxygen to the brain, Big Guy. You're starting to sound like Snelling back when he thought AS was his own personal forum. Most folks didn't put up with that s**t either.

Ain't your thread to whack everyone over the head with who doesn't conform to your standards. Mine either for that matter..., except for maybe adhering to some fundamental principles of respect and courtesy toward others and perhaps occasionally reminding others to do the same when they behave like flagrant a$$holes.

What's between you and Kevin is between you and Kevin and that's where it belongs. Period.

And Jeff Lary deserves an apology...as does the whole damned thread for even having to weed through this crap.

But you're offended? Hell, I'd be ashamed.

Guess that pretty much seals my fate here on the Poulan thread, but a bully is a bully and an a$$hole is an a$$hole.

I have no tolerance or patience for either, nor should anyone else here.

As you were, gang.

Later.

This is Wyoming and it is not known for their trees here. I am about 29 miles from Cheyenne and I go there to scrounge up free wood. Not a lot of chainsaw collectors around here either.

Pretty bad-ass Tim Allen ya have there, tho. I was surprised.

That saw went through the hands of various members on various forums and then one day it showed up on eBay and I could not resist knowing just what the saw needed. Someone had put a bow on that saw at one time and had ground away a part of the crankcase to accommodate the bow. I welded it all back in and rebuilt the saw. Thanks.

Don't post here much, but figured I'd help some folks out. I bought a 4900 off Ebay that arrived today. Actually runs and pulls 155psi, clean(ish) bore and piston. Just needs some pieces parts... anyway, an air filter is one of the things it needs. Someone just happened to post 4 of them on Ebay 2 hours ago for $25ea and free shipping. Feel free to fight over the other 3. ;):p

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221399829280

Also found this listing that shows 1 filter for $15. But it could be a 12 year old sheet for all I know. Someone might give them a call though.

http://www.docstoc.com/docs/102127225/POU-INV-LISTING---Macro-Equipment

I was looking at the filter from a PP295 I'm selling. Thinking if I cut a piece of 1/8" steel for a bottom plate, change the OEM 4900 carb bolts with the studs on top to regular bolts, I could bolt the plate to the top of the carb. Cut it to fit the bolt down style 295 filter and call it good. The 295 filter is short, not exactly square, and not double sided. So probably has 40-50% of the filter media the OEM filter does. But, it's $5 every day of the week. No reason it couldn't be bolted on a steel plate fit to the carb. Couple paper gaskets and maybe some foam tape to seal the filter and it might work. Someday I'll try and fit one up.
