So I got the points cleaned on the 361 last night and what do you know, a nice blue spark:) Also was able to get the chain tensioner screw straitened out enough to use. Put an old bar and chain on just to test the saw and with the choke on it popped on the second pull and then started right up. A little tuning and this thing runs like a top! Nice and loud too! Just need to get a good b/c for it now.

Also the new to me 3000 got a sticker for the clutch cover and I put on the new bar that Mark just sent me. Just waiting on the .325 chain I had to order, should be here next week. Can't wait to fire this one up!

Also got to use my new Christmas present in the garage since it was about 20 degrees last night. Heater attachment for my propane tank. These things are awesome!

Sayyyyyy. That may be what I could use. It's 46 in my garage now and I havn't tinkered diddly in five days.

I'm crawling the walls.[emoji12]

Tractor Supply? Menards?

Yeah it's pretty nice to have that heat. I just looked it up and it looks like they are around $50 and Home Depot has them as well as several other places. It won't heat the whole garage very quickly but it's great next to the work bench.

Any of you fellas more knowledgeable than me be able to help me out with bar mounts? More particularly the bar mount patterns for the following.

3400-4000 series saws

4200-8500 series saws

306A, 245A, 361 older model saws

S25 series saws

Any other popular series a guy might want to know

Thanks in advance, I'm sure I'm not the only one that could use this info:)

Nate, most of your info can be found on Acres site, basics is all the saws listed are 176 (076) 5/16" 8.0 mm studs except the 6900 - 8500 series which are 3/8" 9.5 mm studs. The 5/16" stud saws will carry the larger pattern with the use of a S clip. The S25DA series are LP 3/8 picco 91 chain. There are so many different variations of chain and bars now it can get very confusing. I think there are 11 different sizes of chain.

Thanks, I don't know a ton about bars and chains so I'm just trying to figure out some basics to make sure I'm running the right stuff on the right saws. Half of the saws I've picked up need new bars and chains as the bars are crap and a lot of the chains are safety chains.
Is it correct that the the 306, 245, 361, 3400-4000 and the 4200-5200 saws all take the same mount from what you are saying?

yes, the 6900 - 8500 is like the PP series 455 655 / P series Pioneers.

Your correct that the saws you listed all use the Oregon D176 mount. The drive links depend on the bar length. For example the 3400 16" uses 56 dl, the 18" uses
I think that chains type, pitch, size is the most confusing to me.
yup. Oregon bars use diff. Drive link counts than other brands. For an example a 16 " D176 bar for the 3400 uses 60 dl, an 18" uses 66 dl and a 20" uses 70 dl.
Previous post was incorrect.

Thanks, actually found a couple good articles online in the last 20 minutes about calculating pitch by measuring. I just want to learn more about it and so I make sure I'm running all the right stuff for each saw and bar. It's all kinda confusing at first.
