Well I'll be damned. Took the advice of you guys on me S25DA's. Cleaned brass bushing on sprocket, flipped flat springs around on Clutch and that did the trick. Only question I have is " removal of the large washer/spacer when using the sprocket with the raised center." I did so and it works but wonder if its advisable. Guess I never heard this before.

Nice shop and working on a HUsky, huh?

1st year 1990 with K&S p+c no decomp with the bigger 87 carb. Guess it is sought after by the cult like following. I never been impressed with a 262 myself and sold all of them with mahle and 120 carb though. I just soon run my 60cc poulans.
So if this is their best one and it still dont impress me. Well that tells me all I need to know about the cult following this saw. :dizzy::laugh:

I hear ya there, Tim. I wouldn't have the patience (or the muscle) for it. At least he got it down to 3 pulls by letting it sit for a day which is pretty remarkable progress. Hell, maybe if it sits a little longer it'll start itself!

I've come across a few old filters that I think (not sure but it seemed so) that had check valves in them. They would be a great help with Micros and other saws with long fuel lines. Most of the horizontal cylinder saws would benefit from that as well.
8433Jeff shakes an unprimed saw with a full fuel tank to build some tank pressure and it works pretty well. Especially when it's warm out.

A good fuel cap might help. My other 2 are running after 7 to 10 pulls. It's a long fuel line to fill up. The only way this craftsman would start before I replaced the handle and reed was by priming it. Not a very good design on the reed seat. Even the donor was pitted.

It's been awhile since I've checked in here, It's great to see this thread still going strong.

Picked up a NOS 3450 the other week, I found her on Ebay paid a little more than I wanted, but I told myself the last time a few of these saws showed up, I'd do my best to grab one if they did again. Made this video for the guys here. I think it's neat to have a new saw that was made in 03.:happybanana:
