Never heard that story. If you’ve still got 4 or 5 extra I’m in. Getting tired of pulling fuel lines to fix leaking gas from 4200/5200 tank tops every year or two.
When servicing those pumps, pull the knob off while it is set to max volume. There should be an alignment mark punched into the hex head on the pump and a corresponding one on the case. They were marked from the factory once max flow was established. Generally, it is about 3/4-1 turn out from fully seated. Easy to check with the saw running though. Echo had really strong pumps.
Randy, I don't think I have many left, that was years ago before you came around I think. I have had folks ask for them and they have left one or two at a time over that time frame.
I agree . Have some fun with it . Low buck saw , low buck pipe . Big fun! Custom inlet pipe little tig welding . Will look cool .

Looking at the diaphragm I made I think I missed the correct placement for the impulse opening. Believe what’s happening is the air isn’t entering the pump but coming out between the cover and pump body. Will make a new one to see if it helps.I've had most of them hold without blocking off the impulse passage to the crankcase. Maybe your pump is leaking. Sometimes the little check ball gets stuck open in the pump. A little fiddling with the ball can free it up..
Does the oiler work? If it does I would just make a gasket for the case that omits the impulse passage hole and check to see if you have any other air leaks.
I generally do make new case to pump gaskets and pump cover gaskets as they can leak and the pump doesn't work well or not at all.
Probably exceeded their limit.Seems like they would have used a credit card and got in the house.

Now that's funnyWell at least it didn't whoop out at chainsaw that was in your barn and cut the door down
Steve
Faster to smash things to get in, not good but that's what happens, if I was closer I'd be over to help you fix it
