When servicing those pumps, pull the knob off while it is set to max volume. There should be an alignment mark punched into the hex head on the pump and a corresponding one on the case. They were marked from the factory once max flow was established. Generally, it is about 3/4-1 turn out from fully seated. Easy to check with the saw running though. Echo had really strong pumps.

Never heard that story. If you’ve still got 4 or 5 extra I’m in. Getting tired of pulling fuel lines to fix leaking gas from 4200/5200 tank tops every year or two.

Randy, I don't think I have many left, that was years ago before you came around I think. I have had folks ask for them and they have left one or two at a time over that time frame. The point is still the same though.

The fella came back a few years ago and offered to make up another run of them but this time I wasn't going to be the one to shell out for the whole batch of them again.

I still have the address of the guy if you guys all want to get together and raise up the dough to get another batch made up, I would see if he is still willing to do them. It was a couple hundred bucks or so if I remember right but I don't remember how many we had done at that time. Seems like $5 a piece for them which was not bad, they were very nicely done. The only thing is the hex on the original was done in a square which was still just fine.

Good tip there. I know there was a certain range for them like that but I had one that was quite different so thats what got me into the habit of just counting the turns out then put them back in the same amount of turns before putting that stop cap back on.

Ok, thought you may have been sitting on a few and still needed to move them. I do remember reading the thread on the shop that ran those.

On a side note, the thin P4200/5200 oiler cover seal 530019076 crosses to a Dichto TCM 068081VM. No garter spring & it’s a single lip seal like the OEM.

As far as I could search, National & SKF does not make a 7/8” x 11/16” thin seal.

OEM still available for now. I added that TCM # to my copy of your Poulan seal list for future ref.

I've had most of them hold without blocking off the impulse passage to the crankcase. Maybe your pump is leaking. Sometimes the little check ball gets stuck open in the pump. A little fiddling with the ball can free it up..

Does the oiler work? If it does I would just make a gasket for the case that omits the impulse passage hole and check to see if you have any other air leaks.

I generally do make new case to pump gaskets and pump cover gaskets as they can leak and the pump doesn't work well or not at all.
Looking at the diaphragm I made I think I missed the correct placement for the impulse opening. Believe what’s happening is the air isn’t entering the pump but coming out between the cover and pump body. Will make a new one to see if it helps.

So this was my 8 am . Called at work fire dept said I had a chimney fire. I rush home , they ducked up the door and mud tracked my whole house and found no fire.....except the one in the firebox smoking alot. I thanked them for checking . Could have been worse . I had a shop fire and they were on it!
