Dang Brad you look COLD!:hmm3grin2orange:

It was in the teens. It's only 22° now.

Yeah, really cold. 12 above now, -13 this morning. BTW, Jesus will need your log holder in 11 days. Saw sounds good, any luck with a top cover? Are you leaving it as is or are you grinding as we speak?

Lmao

What are you asking?

A Poulan 25D is 2.1 maunal oiler only a 25DA is 2.1 auto and manual.

A S25D is 2.3 manual and a S25DA is auto and manual.

And yes Craftman got all the above versions as far as I know.

You can pull the starter cover off and see enough of the oil pump to see what you got.

I bet it was hard not to mumble somthing like its easy to tell if ya take the cover off dumb ass
*chuckles*so i see its really easy to see which one is which,,,,

now if you dont mind if its an auto oil version can the manual oiler work but the auto does not?

seems to hardly sling oil at all?

my one thats an auto.... with clutch cover of pumps it well both ways and my other one thats an auto oiler dont spit out anything either way.....

i suppose i will learn about the oiling system soon i have the pdf you sent me saved will be looking at how the gaskets go etc....

I've got a brand new one in the garage for Jesus:) I have a top cover for it now, but I don't have a 5200 air filter. With this 8500 air filter on it, the top cover won't go on.

Nobody is making air filters for these older saws. I have yet to find one for a 4000. Have a Dolmar 117 I would buy a filter for, mine has a repair. These are 25 years old, I understand that, but if someone has a bunch stashed I don't know about them. Even the Olympyks, and I have a line on parts for them, don't carry any more for the previous series saws, the Efco ones being the only ones. Dealers don't stock items like these anymore, its not cost effective to carry the inventory rather than order and wait a day or two.

They certainly are impressive saws!!!
Can't wait to see it when you get it finished.
The real question is, "How do YOU like it"?
Did you take a compression test on it?

For some reason the 4000 air filter don't show up on PoulanPro.com but they do for a PP 375 and 385 and show there availible

Part Mfg: POULAN-WEED-EATER
Part Number: PWE 530025918
Price: $7.88

Price is right anyway. ;)

I spoke to the gentleman who owns the saw about 6 weeks ago. After learning what he wanted for it, I did not even bother to go look at it.
