I know a lot of you Poulan guys are from Ohio and Mark in Indiana, but you oughta try to make it out to the Western PA Eastern Ohio GTG in the spring.

Would like to meet yinz guys in Stiller Country.

You noticed that were all going to get together at Greggs place in OH in May didn't you?

How far is it for you to a littl west of central OH?

Aaron, give me a little time to dig it out and give it a look over. We can work something out I'm sure.

10-4 Mark. Certainly no hurry on this end. I've got many 'projects' to get to first. The spot on the shelf (and the place in the saw rehab line) will be waiting for it whenever we work something out.

The PNW GTG is about four months away, and I need to get some of the old Magnesium rehab'd and ready to go. Much of the work is minor, but some is major. Then there's the saw coming from (and one going to) a fine young fellow in Pa.

Yes it does indeed Mark. Does it have a good P/C? I don't need it.............but I do want it. There's a place on my shelf for just such a saw. That's right next to the XX. Now the question is........how do I get it to that place on the shelf?:D

Yep. It does indeed ease the mind. I'm 37, and am one of the younger guys here (at least amoung the 'old saw' nuts). I've always been more comfortable around 'older' friends, especially now that 'older' means folks in the 40's, 50's, 60's, and above. So much more wisdom and experience (and less BS) to be had. Jeez Chris, you're only 24???:D

Hey, Aaron, 24 and 3/4!

I agree, I've always got a long better with an older crowd. Anybody I've ever worked with has told me they've never seen a kid work like me. My generation and younger have pretty much gone by the wayside as far as ambition and motivation are concerned. Attitudes are generally pretty bad, as we witnessed earlier.

I'm always trying to learn how to do something new, although I'm not really particularly great at anything I can get by in a lot of things, this place is just another place to meet new folks, do a little trading, and try to share a little bit of what was shared with me.

LOL, Sounds good! I guess an old Browns fan can sneak into Steeler territory for a chainsaw GTG. We are gonna have another Poulan Lovers GTG here at my place this May sometime. Your welcome to come to that also. Alot of the Poulan Thread guys.

Here is a video of a Poulan 4000.

That's about 4hours out from here, I certainly couldn't commit to coming out there.

Wish I could make it though.

Chris

I think its about 3 1/2 hrs for me, but I'll be there unless theres and emergency between now and then. When you start getting older the chances for emergencies does increase. :rotfl:

Can I take my saws on the plane?

Well, I hope so, I'll pick you up in Chicago midway if you need me too.

If they don't let you bring the saws, I'm sure we could rustle up a couple somewhere for you to use. :hmm3grin2orange:

A 4000 does a good job! Mighty fine 65cc saw from any time frame.

Most 65cc are on a larger chassis and are too heavy to be a small saw but aint got enough guts to be a big saw.

The 4000 sits on a mid size chassis and just is a nice unit.

Got some pics of the 3400 after a few hours of dissassembly and cleanup.

I did a muffler mod the factory way, just split the side of the muffler and drilled the diffuser out to 3/8 holes.

cool deal i dont have any way to weld!!! so how much did that help it breath dave?

Dave, isnt that the one you just got that needed fuel lines and such? Is it up and running?

She sure did clean up nice! You can tell that saw was not used much.

I like that muffler mod. I did one like that on a Husky (fancy Poulan) 141 not long ago. I heated the area that you bent up and pulled it up a little farther in the back with a old screwdriver while it was cherry red. Gave it a little more area in the back of the "deflector" that way.

Those mods like that are nice looking and most folks who are not accomplished welders can do that easily with only a propane torch to use to heat it up.

Nice looking job you did on it.
