Dave, isnt that the one you just got that needed fuel lines and such? Is it up and running?
She sure did clean up nice! You can tell that saw was not used much.
I like that muffler mod. I did one like that on a Husky (fancy Poulan) 141 not long ago. I heated the area that you bent up and pulled it up a little farther in the back with a old screwdriver while it was cherry red. Gave it a little more area in the back of the "deflector" that way.
Those mods like that are nice looking and most folks who are not accomplished welders can do that easily with only a propane torch to use to heat it up.
Nice looking job you did on it.
You know what, I was at work and couldn't wait to get home to weld a pipe on so, I positioned the muffler housing on and anvil, sharpend my chisel, and sliced it open, then used a pair of linemans pliers to open it up. At some point in my life I'd love a TIG welder at home, I got Lincoln 140 MIG but the TIG is just awsome.
Yes she runs nice, I used the Oregon tygon line, luckily the duckbill survived although all the line's were gone. I had the saw down to just the cylinder and crank case. I touched up the bumper gaurd safety chain with a file and let her rip. Cuts surprisingly good for safty chain. The bar is hammered as small chips are missing out of the lower rail and the chain rocks side to side, so a B/C is in order soon. Probably gonna go with an Oregon 20" Power Match and a 72LGX chain.
