I am not ready to start rebuilding the 2 335s I got, but I had to know what I was working with. Comp felt good but tthat wasnt enough. So last night I did comp and spark tests. Both had blue spark and both showed 150+psi!! I ordered carb kits and a new filter cover for one. Unfortunately one is missing the airfilter and they are NLA. These will be fun projects. Mught need intake boots but wont know for sure till the teardown. Also those replaceable .325 tip bars are way cool.
TAKE THAT TRACTOR SUPPLY!

You'll like those saws Joe. I have three 3300's. they run great. I also have an extra intake boot if you need one, plus many extra parts that may fit your saws. Just let me know what you are missing and I'll see what I can come up with.

The paint was bad but the 361 sticker that was on it was not. Also the metal serial number - model tag on the bottom stating 361 seems legit. It could very well have a different muffler on it. I can't say. I gave 5 bucks for it at a local auction a month ago.

Either way 5 bucks was a steal! What do I know Nik LOL!

Picked up another pile of saws today. Included was what looked like a promising 245A..........

Lets have a moment of silence, Gentlemen.

Thanks Bob. I have a craftsman 2.8 that I use ALOT and a mint 3.3 so like you I am a fan of these saws. Once I start into them I might PM you.

I know, no pictures but its late and I just got home but found my new 4400 waiting for me. A quick glance at it shows it seems to be just like described. A quick pull on the rope feels good, nothing broken etc.

With a little effort it should be up and going in no time.

I'll try to photo it tomorrow.

Well it does sound like fun... But I wouldnt go blastin on a good saw/parts saw.

Now you don't think I did it do ya......I sure would LOVE to shoot some saws but this was not my work LOL.

Mitch, did it get the crank case or just the tank/handle assy?

Saw is complete. Other than the hole, in great condition. I have a feeling the previous owners son went out target shooting one day.

That shows why I'm not a .223 fan. :hmm3grin2orange:

My 243 would have come out the back side.

If you need a handle let me know.

Mitch, is that a gun shot wound?

Sure is! Looks like a jacketed 223 LOL.

That just makes me sick. I haven't wanted to shoot any chainsaw..............except for maybe a mini-mac or two (OK or ten).

I HATE seeing old equipment shot up for no damn good reason. Trucks, tractors, chainsaws............you name it. There's a cool old 2-ton Studebaker flatbed about 15 miles from me in a vacant lot (next to a 1949 or so Ford flatbed). Both have had the windows shot out, and have had other assinine vandalism.

I was at an 'unofficial' outdoor shooting range in the woods a few years ago and saw what turned out to be a straight, rust-free International Harvester pickup tailgate........................with about 500 holes in it. My IHC pickup doesn't even have a tailgate. Makes me mad enough to chew nails and spit screws......:dizzy:

That's a crying shame about that 245A. That saw model seems to be almost non-existant in my area. Been searching for one of those for a while. The only 245 variant I've ever seen in my area was an orange Dayton version that had been badly crunched by a truck or tractor. It was at an estate sale, and the seller still wanted something crazy like $100 for it and wouldn't budge....:(

I like my Poulans about as much as a person can reasonably like a well designed machine. I sure wish I liked mine as much as this guy.:msp_scared:

chainsaw poulan 6900 - eBay (item 120693840676 end time Apr-04-11 12:34:02 PDT)

It looks a little rough for the money...but perhaps I am just old and out of touch with the value of the dollar. :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

Perhaps somebody would buy this for a more reasonable offer. If I didn't already have all the large Poulans I need.....hmmmmm

He's had it listed for a few months, that's a lot of money IMO, It does have a 54" bar, but looks rough for $650 and 69cc.
