I now believe. Why do a lot of the Daytons look like they were used for a season or two and then put to bed, all snuggled up in their feetzy jamies?

Nik, you went above and beyond. It is absolutely staggering how much effort you put into this. It is a phenomenal job. You had to do absolutely everything to get this saw in the shape it is in. I am humbled by your gift in time, effort and resourcefulness.

Listening to it purr so smoothly truly speaks to your generosity and hard work as well as your growing talent and abilities.:chainsawguy:

I don't know if this is a violation of the rules, but I might personally call upon anyone who does not rep Nik :jester:

Man Nik had a hell of a time with this saw, there were a few times it almost ended up in the Ohio river, and no I'm not joking.

Anyway it was great to hear that baby fire up. Great job Nik!!!:clap::clap:

Yes from the coversation I had with Nik last week he sure seemed frustrated.

Sometimes simple things can throw you off and we discussed the flywheel option.

I would like to personally see the parts that were swapped between the 361 and the Dayton version as even though its easy to think everything is the same between the Poulan version and the Dayton version, it seems more and more I'm finding that the rebadged saws (especially the Daytons) were not exact clones and got some different parts on them.

It all worked out and thats a wonderfull sounding and looking classic!

Vaguely remember the discussion on this saw. (If it was before yesterday it's always kind'a hazy to me. :dizzy:) Seems it was around the same time I was having trouble with a 361. Precisely what was the flywheel issue?

lol, all I gotta say is make sure you don't leave anything out when you re-assemble.....(even though you leak tested the crankcase and it was tight as a drum....):jester::jester:

I left the damn reed block gasket out. put it in, it fired on the first pull. reswapped flywheels and still ran like a champ. I'm a dumbass.:bang::bang:
