One of the local shops has a Counter Vibe 3400 saw that was traded in. He said he would let me know next time I saw him if he wanted to sell it or not. I'm pretty sure it's a non-runner but the outside of the saw looked like it had no damage so I'll check back next week or so to find out. Most people around here aren't into Poulans so I generally get my pick.

4200/4900, I think I can make out the 4 starting the number but that is all. I would almost give my left one for the bar by itself. Haven't seen many roller bars for Poulans around here.

Absolutely gonna say 4900 due to the top cover color, the position of the kill switch and the shape of the rear handle.

Gone for a week.

Well boys the day has come. Getting married Saturday. A year and a half in the making and its days away! So Ill be on some island somewhere for a week (thats what happens when you let HER pick the honeymoon spot:bang:. Anyway, Im doubting there will be any saws there and to be honest Im all set with leaving the resort at all. So Ill be here this week, but gone all next.
But shes cool with the saws, and building my shop in the cellar, and all the other heavy metal that usually finds its way into the bed of my truck. Will be a good time. Ill try to sneak on while im there as my sister gave me her hardly used ipod touch.

I found the history of mergers and acquisitions that Poulan was involved with to be interesting - a whole lot of consolidation going on. I was wondering where the later saws like my 2001 2775 Farm Hand fit in. Looking at some of the earlier saws I can see some common design features, but clearly the 2775 is more lightly built - which group did those newer designs come from or evolve out of?

I'm not sure about where any of them came from but picking up a wild thing and picking up a 245, you certainly can tell the difference. It's like they were built by a different company.

Had a burst of energy early this morning. That was short lived, however. LOL Was still very hot for that kind of work. I wanted to use my 4200, havn't ran that saw yet. Thought this Oak would be a good test for it. The saw ran great! But, its not oiling,:( so will have to dig into that. So only made a couple cuts with it. Old Blue had to take over and take care of it!! LOL

I sweat my old guy, out of shape, fat butt off I tell ya. But, got it quartered with mean old mister sledge & wedge. Its gonna half to cool off some, before I work the wood that hard again. I might pick on some Ash trees next, hopefully won't have to quarter them to lift them.:dizzy:

Gregg,

That looks like a good load there Gregg!!
If you need an oiler, I have a NOS one here with your name on it.

Mike

Thanks for the kind offer my friend!! I'll "explore" this one and see what I can find. I don't think I had this one apart. The saw was in real nice looking condition. I put the usual carb kit, fuel line etc. Hopefully its something simple, like a hard broken oil pick up line or something.

Gregg,

husky bar

I see your sporting a huqvarna bar and chain on that blue 4000. is it a 325 pitch 50 gauge? did you have to change anything or was it a direct bolt up?
