I have decided to set a date for a Poulan Lovers GTG!!! Had to postpone it from May, due to flooding.:msp_sad:
And, I know a lot of fellas have been gettin antsy to have another one. LOL Me too! Its tough to set a date for these things, without conflicting with other GTG's and peoples different schedule's.

As of now, it will be October 8th. Unless I hear from some that would prefer, we could do it the following weekend, the 15th. Hopefully, it will be much cooler then also. Will plan on having the same kinda eats & drink as last time. So unless there is something special you want, don't need to bring anything but yourselves & some saws. :)

I think most of ya know how to get here, but if you need directions, just ask.

Gregg,

I'll quote this simply because I think that banner is worth it, hope to see you on the 8th Gregg.:)

Mike, that is very kind but I bet you will get sick of me ordering Poulan parts right quick. 67L36Driver suggested the gent in Greece. Now I but lots of stuff from Dimitris and he is a fine man to deal with but what size rings should I ask for?
Can someone conform the size rings from both the 2.0 and 2.3 cube Poulan Micros? I tried Mr Acres and got real confused. This is the saw I am working on. Old and nasty but it matches the colours of my 4900 just right. Funny, the bore and piston are really nice but I can only get 90 lbs compression.

New sign

Sorry to double post but what do you think of my new workshop sign? I will have to buy some orange and white paint and start painting my green saws. :msp_biggrin:
(Should have sucked my stomach in.)

Silly question, but given that it is a new P&C, have you checked your compression tester on a good saw to make sure your Schraeder valve isn't messing up?

cammie

Hello everyone, been away lately and it sure took some time to read all those posts. Looks like things have cooled down a little but what really struck me is how passionate we all are about these good old old Poulans.

Hope you guys take lots of pictures at the GTG for those on the other side of the world. I would love to bring my 4900 and 8500 along but that is just dreaming.

A question. Where can I get a piston ring for a little Micro XXV Deluxe? I think it is the 38cc one and it has a chrome piston and unplated bore. Do any of the site sponsers do Poulan parts? Ordertree will not post to me in Oz and our local distributer is McCulloch and have no idea what I am talking about. Any ideas?

Sorry about the blurry pic - got two stroke fuel on the lens.

I like that "natural" cammie paint job on the bar.....

Provided you got a good reading from your guage, I'd suspect the ring(s) are stuck.

Pull it apart and measure the bore/piston diameter and ring groove width.

Me and Nik had a chance to run his ported 4000 for the first time, and I must say it has serous grunt for an old 60cc saw.

Here is a short video of the saw cutting some nasty hard Hickory.

Looks like Nik wasn't yanking my chain about the 4000 being special. I'll definitely have to keep an eye out.

I did get a line on a Poulan that might have a little more grunt than the 4000 though...

Where has our buddy Mark been? Anyone know? I hope he is'nt still pizzed about the sticky thing. (Although I know some of us still are)

Good running 4000 ya got there Nik!:msp_thumbup:

new parts

I just got my new used P and C in the mail for my 306A from ebay, they look clean and shiny. Cant wait to rebuild the saw tomorrow, maybe tonight. how much beer does it take to replace a piston and cylinder on one of those things
Nick.

Mark decided to take a few days off from the site.
All will be good with a little time.

Depends on whether you beer is any good, or some of that horse pizz many of you drink!!!
A good Snake Dog, Hop Wallop, Or Two Hearted Ale only takes about 3!!!!!!!!
Budweiser, Bud light and that ilk will probably take a dozen or more!
