out bid!!!

right now its at aboput 110 bucks with shipping i shoulda boughtb that black and grey one mark had for sale i was tight that month.....

LOL well i bid what i was willing to pay and got outbid in the last secs LOL i believe in fate!!!!

Yeah Joe your right. That 7-10 Mac I just bought was shown at 90lbs.

When I picked it up I asked the guy how he tested it and he said he gave it 2 pulls. I got it home and it tested at 160. :ices_rofl:

I dont doubt it Mark. 160 is a nice number for a 7-10. I think my 4300 is around there as well. You gonna keep it? I kept mine I do like that saw, the 10-10 with no carb adj. ports is going on the auction block soon tho!

You gonna keep it?

Heck, who knows. It is the wrong color yellow and it made me mad already, just trying to get it to run right.

I'll keep it long enough to give it a fair shake and comparison to the 245. Got no real money in it and its not worth alot either so if it runs out ok, then yeah, probably keep it around for the Poulans to laugh at.

Is there a fuel line available that will seal tight through the tank of a 8500 and still go over the nipples of the carb and fuel filter? Right now I am trying to hog out the smaller opening to get them to fit.

soooo when ya going to do another 3.7 or 3700 or 3400 redo your going to sell like that grey and black one i missed out on????

I dont have one for selling right now. That Craftsman surprised me for what it brought, but it was worth that in all reality. Keep your eues open there are plenty out there.

No dont hog out the opening for a 5/16" line if you can help it. The 5/16" line is too stiff to let the filter flop in the tank like it should as far as I'm concerned. Find a screw in tank fitting for a Poulan 361 style saw. It has 5/16" threads on it and you can screw it in the tank hole after you run a tap in it. You can then use a 1/8ID line inside the tank and the 3/16ID line from the fitting to the carb. I think I posted pictures of this setup before.

Ok, what are you guys' ebay user names? I've been in on some auctions and don't want to be in a bidding war with you guys. I would also feel better about buying something from fellow members instead of Joe-blow. And I don't mean instead of Joe25da.....

Thanks, I will for sure check all that out. I guess I am still confused over the various small poulans. This one today is loads smaller than the 1800 or 2000 I have. I guess I thought of that as "micro". I'll have to look at a lot of pictures of the various smaller ones at acres site.

Post a pic of the saw you want to put a sprocket on. We'll be able to identify it right away. Poulan confused us by using "XXV" and "25" in both the Micro and XXV saw family. If it's smaller than an 1800 or 2000 (which are Micros), then it's for sure not an XXV (there was a "Super XXV Micro" in the Micro family). Clear as mud? Just post a pic. Since it's smaller than your two "known Micros", then there's a tiny possibility that it's an XX/20 saw. I doubt it though. Again, a pic will fix this fast.

Always with the Green vs Yellow eh Mark?:fart:

Everybody here knew you were selling that saw. Methinks the reputation of the overall-clad Poulan guru helped with the auction results. Probably gained a good 20-30% over what it'd gone for if some random ebay shmuck was selling it. Not trying to be funny. That's my honest opinion (for what it's worth).

I'm waiting for you to put a Poulan 5200/5.2 up for sale. Just don't tell nobody but me!:D

That #2677 tank fitting is the best thing since cold beer. Are they still available from Poulan/Husky? I've got several saws of a few different makes (and colors) that could benefit from that fitting, or one similar to it. I HATE molded fuel lines that just bung into a hole in the side of the tank. That there is one feature of the 7-10A that falls FAR FAR behind the 245A. A bulkhead fitting (either threaded right into the tank, or with a nut on the other side) is a much better, more possitive way to do the job. Wasn't Bob Wright gonna make some of these? If so, I'll contact him about a few different sizes of fittings.

At least I'm consistant with the green and yellow right?

Thanks for the compliment on the sale but I'm still kicking myself for selling the one 5200 so I doubt you see any of mine up again any time soon, but you never know. Might just to aquire another version like a 5400 or something.

Your correct, the great fella Bob Wright did indeed make some of those fittings up for me and I appreciated it but I would hate to ask for more from him.

There was a Poulan guy who was talking about setting up a CNC program to mass produce some but have not heard anything more about that venture.

Define mass production, Mark. Are we talking 100, 500, 20000 pieces? My neighbor has a machine shop and he makes all sorts of parts. If you have a model I could show him, I could see what it would cost.

I really dont know how many, I know I would like some and so would some other members but I would think 100 would be alot.

Copy those pictures I posted and show him. If hes really interested in doing them, I'll come up with one to send to you.

The threads are 5/16 inch to give you a idea for size.

I've got one of the Black and gray ones I'm considering putting on there, it's a 3.0, not sure yet, I have several others I'd like to sell first. I kinda like to keep the good ones around for awhile. Oops, I think I managed to post this in the wrong place!

Can't blame me for wishful thinking. I'm still holding out hope for the cherry Craftsman 5.2 that's been stored on a garage shelf for the last 35 or so years. Seeing your 5.2 in the fuel line fitting pics above rekindles that hope. Hmmmmmmm........Plan-B is to figure out how to persuade/trick Mitch into selling one of his 5.2's to me. That'll take some serious commitment...:D

I'd be up for 10 of the things at least. I can think of several fellow Green, Yellow, and Red Fever sufferers that would be up for a like number, if not more. Being able to use a buck or so worth of common fuel line come replacement time in place of a $15+ molded line (that may or may not seal right) is a no-brainer. The aftermarket molded lines vary greatly in quality and dimmentions. NOS stuff may or may not handle the crap gas we're forced to run.

I just replaced a line in a yeller saw last weekend. The line I replaced was only six months old.......and didn't fit snug in the tank hole from the start. The line I installed yesterday didn't impress me with the quality either. It fit tight and sealed, but was a very hard, "plastic-like" line. It's acting like it's going to kink, despite the internal spring. I'm just plain fed up with molded lines (if that isn't obvious). I need to measure the existing holes in the tanks of the various saws to figure out if a 5/16" fitting would work for all. I do know that a 1/8" ID in tank line+3/16" ID carb line combination would work with all the saws I'm thinking of.

The POulan Pro 405 and 455 have a similar nipple. Don't know thread size as I don't want to remove mine but part # is 507431268. Haven't checked to see if its NLA.

Rudedog, you done well on those.

Dont matter what the saw snobs say about the new ones and such, those 3 you got there will put alot of firewood in the truck in a day. Been there and done that.

Thanks, I really like them and I think they will be a little easier to get to the point of being presentable considering they already run well. Does anybody know the I/D-O/D of the fuel line Poulan uses and can I use Tygon like I do on my Homelites?
