Nope, its a 4000 cover. A pp395 cover is not black.

Here is one I got courtesy of ModifiedMark. I put it on a 4000, but it is not black. It is gray, dark gray. :D
Funny thing is, the one on my PP375 IS black.

Gregg,

Al,
I was noticing the markings on that chunk of wood your PP375 is sitting on. What made those marks? I have seen plenty of different borer tracks, but if thats what they are from, it must be HUGE!!!:msp_scared:

Gregg,

Gregg, we call them wood grubs and they are great bait for our Murray cod. My boy caught this one behind home a few of years ago - he brought it home in a wheel barrow. Big baits for big fish. BTW, this one is 65lbs but it is still 22lbs behind his old man's best.

WOW!!!
I have often said, that there isn't any place in the world that I would want to visit, except Australia.
The oddball, freaky, huge & small critters you have there is amazing! And, quite frankly, spooky. :D

The biggest fish I ever caught was 25lb. Carp. :ices_rofl: Your biggun at 87 lb. I have shot deer before that would be close to that dressed out..lol

Gregg,

71A Chain

Finally got the 71A running, after having to pull the carb apart about 6 times. Had to end up using the new needle valve and the old lever. The new lever, that was in the kit, wouldn't work. The forked end was hitting the needle seat and causing it to leak. No matter how I tried bending it, it wouldn't seat.....Anyway, now that it's running, I want to replace the worn out chain. I know it's a .404 pitch, but what gauge is it?

I forgot that I had run into that lever problem with a HL carb before, good you got it figured out.

As to the chain gauge, there is no way for us to tell without knowing the bar that is on it. I think the original 30" on my 71A is 063 but dont hold me too it.

I'm pretty sure I gave u a loop of chain for that saw, no? If that's the one, it was .063.

For those who care, I made a vid of Mike's 4000 yesterday with an 8 pin rim, but in trying to free up memory on my phone, yours truly accidentally erased the dang thing. :/

Fwiw, it cut that oblong oak log in darn near the exact same time as it did with the 7 pin. It didn't gain anything, but sure didn't lose anything, so I'm quite pleased. :)

Of course, some of us care:msp_ohmy: I guess you will just have to do a re-taping of the event!!
Just kidding,
Next time, be more careful when deleting Po*n from your phone!:ices_rofl:

That 4000 makes some of us old Poulan lovers proud, to see what can be done with them. Especially for us that lack the skill & guts to try it on a great running saw already.

You sure did give me a chain for it but it was a .058 guage for a 21" roller nose that I had adapted to that saw. Hard to tell what bar the other fella has on his at this point.

Yep, that's what it is. Checked the old chain with some calipers. (Don't know why I didn't think of that before)
