Roger, there's been some speculation around here, and a couple of posts suggest that the Poulan Tim Allen Bad Boy might actually be a 380. Hopefully some knowledgeable members can provide better answers than mine :dunno:.

I just compared it to a old 3450 piston I had laying around and it is the same exact size as the 3450. So the Tim Allen must be something else or all 3750's have a larger bore.

Poulan 3300 value

I'm not familiar with the older Poulans and have an opportunity to get a 3300 for $50. Saw is well used, but starts, cuts and oils as it should. Cosmetics are decent and saw appears all original. Now, putting aside all of the "It's worth what you're willing to pay" nonsense, is it worth $50 to be used occasionally and regularly admired on a shelf?

Thanks in advance,
dd

PS - I am a fan of the later model "Pro" Poulans like the 295 and 260. They have a decent A/V, good response to minor modifications, and they are a great little saw for the money.

Grab it quick before I find out where it is!
They are great little saws and will surprise you how competent they are.

If you are willing to pay the fifty, then buy it. If you don't like it, any number of people will give the fifty for it, if I can't afford it.

Far as I know the Tim Allen bad boy saw were all 60cc 3750's and all 3750's and super 380's shared the same bore size.

Now there was a certain type # 3450 that was actually a 60cc saw like the 3750. I think it was the type III but would have to look it up again to verify.

Pp330

I can finally run this thing! I took it apart and cleaned it at work, not that it had much use on it but what the hell, this is MY newest saw and I want it to look new. I put the new 3/8" 7 pin rim on it and a Husky Farm tough bar. They were on sale at my local dealer and I couldnt beat the price I also got a new 3/8" Husky full chisel chain for it. It balances awesome I cant wait to cut with this saw and see how it compares to my Dolmar 540 and husky 55. I also got a pic of my PP335 with the 330. Its cool cause the 335 is stamped '87 and the 330 is an '07. Theres a lot to be said for that alone.

You might be surprised what that will bring! Probably twice what the same CS-750 Echo would.

Ya want to buy a good AC 295? I'll take 10% less then the ebay one brought. :hmm3grin2orange:

I don't have the JD running right now, I think it needs a coil, possibly a module too. Still looking for the parts.

10% less+good divorce lawyer, might be worth it!

I knew that all the 3750's were 60cc but I did not know if it was done by bore or by stroke or both. So I know for sure now that the bore size is different from the 3450 and 3750. I also knew that there is a type of 3450 that is 60cc but all the information on that part number I had for the piston and ring did not reference that at all. I will keep it and will use it on another saw. Thanks.

That 335 looks more compact to me than the 330. It could be the air cleaner box. Nice looking saws and I really like the PP series saws and that cc range.

The A/F is smaller along with the top cover and the recoil cover is a little different as well. Mark and others would know more about the performance differences. I have 2 PP335s, I use the other one (not pictured) quite a bit and that saw has plenty of power for the 20"/.325. I havent used the 330 yet.

Thank you for your opinions, gentlemen! I'll make a point of picking it up tomorrow and try to post some pics tomorrow night.

You are correct Mark. The 3450 Type 3 is a 60cc saw. Has a Girradoni(sp) piston. I bought a 3450 and found it was a Type 3. Oh lucky days.

Update on chainsaw collection

Here is my collection as of yesterday, FINALLY found myself a 5200 at a reasonable price, previous owner put new piston and cylinder on it. I cannot get it to bog in any wood I have laying around the house, Way more power then my 505. Very Very impressed.
