i would sadly have to say you guys that i will probably let go that 271, as other better deals come up to me (ex: was that stihl144) - i would need couple of days to do some research to look for the parts you asking me) and my interest is to have a ´´actual´´ saw and posibly the 271 it isnt the right one for my needs as i understood from your messages, guys(even though i would have to pay a bit more);

please don't misunderstand. that 271 NIB would definitely be a REAL saw with muchos cajones. just doesn't have the AV, that's all. good luck on your search. here's a link to it from chain saw collector's corner.

and i would definitely be interested in availability and shipping cost for the electronic coil (part no. - 35000032)

Model Profile: 271

35000032

found one oleo mac 35000032 seems to be expensive to me 70 € + shipping

av

for the one that have a saw with no AV, is it so big difference between the 2 saws(the one that have AV and teh ones that haven´t)? bearing in mind that i would use it once a month for firewood?

man, that's some nice info to have. just plain gauls me to know all these unobtainable parts are available in europe. at least i know where to turn if i get desperate enough. as far as the 271 goes. you should go handle it and run it if the owner will let you. better yet, see if he'll let you cut come with it. they are heavy, 18.3#, but after you've felled the tree and are bucking the tree will hold the weight of the saw. never know until you can hold it in your hands.
glad to see you on AS. repp'd ya for the info. thanks, dood

you done plenty already. its so expensive cause of supply and demand. them things last forever but when they fail you're up pout creek. i don't care bout new as much as i care about working and serviceable so used ones are always well received.

Kinetics,

I will pay for shipping both ways and send you a great running Olympik 264 (good antivibe) for that 271. Like I said, I grew up on that saw and would love to have a NIB one.

PM me if you are interested. Any saw in my signature is possibly up for trade.

could you send me some pics of that olympuk 264 and what is the manuf date on it and model ; parts for the oli are easy to find either directly from italy (mostly original oli, oleo etc.) or from greece and they are very cheap; what other saws you could offer for swap?thanx

Holy cow! I just checked UPS for shipping prices, unless I missed the "slow boat" option somehow, the cost to ship a 25# (about 11KG) box of chainsaw size with a declared value of $100 US was between $340 and $420! This was to a random postal code in Madrid.

I expected shipping to be somewhat high, but 10x what it costs to send it cross country here in the states is beyond my ability to keep my offer. My apologies. Next time I will do some background checking before opening my big mouth.

we need someone who trips to europe regularly who would be willing to bring some stuff back. then we'd just have to pay the bag fee unless they carried it on. then US shipping cost. would still cost but would beat the h out of what you just said. maybe i need a european vacation. yeah! right!

got it

just got that 271 BNIB , started but would need some adjusting i guess!would any 2cycle oil , 5% work for this chainsaw, or better get some special one?

you're kinda new here so we understand the error. the rule is - pictures or it didn't happen. lol
so far as the mix oil - get you a good one and follow the directions. your saw probably says 20:1 (5%) but i haven't used that in my saws in years. newer oils are better than they used to be. anyone got suggestions?

soon

pics soon , looks beautifull; what do you mean , new oils different mix that 1:20 (5%)?thanx

and

i´m new in here and thanx to ya guys, i decided to go for this 271;might need some help though to start it and tunne it (if that posible)
