JJ, nice score. Looking forward to the resto. Is it a "W" by chance? The front handle would hint so.

This one was a 'W' but was missing parts by the time I arrived. Luckily I have everything in stock to return it to it's full glory, including a Boyeson two-stage reed.

That cylinder you guys are talking about (with the boost port)... which coil mount does it have?

From what I know of it the coil mount is the same as the P-60 coil, which is that long black coil like the Homelite 750 and Poulan 5200 use.

Pioneer Chainsaw Service Repair Manual

hi,

I'm looking for a Pioneer Chainsaw Service Repair Manual. The type I have is a 1074, but any repair manuals for a Pioneer are welcome. If you have something that can help me, please mail it to [email protected]

Thanks,
Johny

Nice score JJ
Are you going to do a full paint on
this resto. Nice project.
I like the big P series also. With help
from you and another member i was able
to get a couple up and running.

You don't really want that ol 1074, It will only curse you. Better just send it to me since I'm already cursed, just let me know when you need my address.

JJ real nice catch on the P61. Cant wait to see the pics after its done

Ok Like I said I'm gonna start the refurb on my 1074 I'll send pics the way it sets now & give updates as I go.
I talked to the boss yesterday & he said why dont you make a mold & send it down the street & have our friend down there injection mold them. So realistically how many guys here need this cover & what price (I'll use this word again) realistically can we expect. I'll have to pay for materials & throw someone or sometwo a bone. Also I'm sure i'm gonna need some random parts as I get into my rebuild so who has parts here. Right off the bat a cyl gasket. I have the new P & C. been sitting on it for 15 years. all thee more reason to get this thing started. One more thing!!! No comments on my carburetor post from the other day???
Oh a side job Im doing, modifing the stering box on the Father-in-laws 1928 model A Ford Sedan.:)

I will probably need a few. Once I check my saw count I will know for sure, but probably 5 will do me.

Big P series find for Jake

The latest P60 I picked up. Always room for another large P series saw. this one runs great but has a repair made at the left rear mount. Still looking for a P52

Nice find! Looks clean to. I may have a case side if you want to fix it properly. I have a case with that has a broke ear like yours, not sure what side though.

The repair can be seen in the photo. They did a good job on it. Since this saw runs good and I have a couple of others, I will keep it as trade bait for a p52 I looked and I have a case half as well but for the cluch side.

Yep, nice looking P60 there. I'd trade a P52 for it (if only I had an extra one).

I just ordered my P52 decals today for my resto... have you guys noticed that Joe from Sugar Creek Supply has P42-62 decals sets on Ebay now? I'm not too sure how the top decal will fit, I hope the measurements I gave him work out. They look to be of top quality again.

Brendon.

I noticed them and wondered that as well. I have a strip of 4 of the those decals I picked up somewhere. Not sure what saws they belong with. On page one of this thread the P51 has one. Most of my large Pioneers all have the P# on top .Maybe the early Pioneer Partner saws?? I will find a P52 (orange with grey handles ) someday. Most of the fun is in the hunt anyway.

Yea, I bought a set a few months ago for my P60 resto. Its through seller cheapchainsawparts, but it is Joe's decals. The P60 set is perfect.

That's a good looking P-60. That repair is pretty common on these models, since they'd get dropped and those ears would break right off.

In a couple weeks I'm going to California to check out some saws and there's rumored to be a nice P-52 in that batch. If it's there then I can arrange to send it your way.

I think these large top air filter decals came on the later P41/51/61 up to the end of the P42/52/62 run. The Pioneer/Partner saws had a similar decal in orange instead of yellow.

P65

what is a P65? just an updated P60? anyone got one? Photos?

The P65 came after the Pioneer Partner P62. When I bought my P62 new the dealer had a listing for the P65 but no info. When Poulan Pro took over the saw became Pro 655. A P65 is a very hard saw to find. I have brochure that shows one in a lineup.

I had a P-65 piston and rings in my inventory. It was identical to the P-655 piston but didn't have the cut-out for the boost port.
