Spent today making this aluminium airbox cover for the P20.

Now that air box cover looks like it will last a hell of a lot longer than the original plastic one.Good thinking!

LOL You probably have a P50 Chris! A couple easy measurements will tell you. On the lower frame, if the saw is upside down, the width between the av mounts will be wider than your P41. Also measure the bolt spacing on the starter cover, the P41 is smaller. The clutch cover and starter cover from the P41will not fit the P50.

Cool. I never thought of the recoil, I knew that was different, but I didn't know about the bottom frame.

Gotta go to the barn in the morning with a tape measure. I will have to go through the fuel system now and get that bad boy working good!

Honestly, just by looking at the spike difference, you have a P50 Chris.

I kinda thought that too, but I wanted to be sure.

I knew it was a bigger saw than the 41, but I just figured it was an older style. We will know for sure tomorrow!

The member I bought it from said that when he got it, he either thought or was told that it was a p60, and he found out later that it was only a 40. I had no reason to doubt him.

He was wrong in a good way, though.

You obviously have the large chassis saw. The smallest jug that will fit it is the 52mm 82cc P50 cylinder. You can always find a 57mm 98cc P60 piston and cylinder and bolt it right on.

Yeah, 82 cc's, I said 88. I got a spare jug and piston from a p52.

Anybody got a p60 p/c ? Good luck with that probably. I'm happy with 82 for now!:cool2:

I've got a few gaskets that I need help identifying. I've googled and searched most of the ipl's. I may have missed something.
Thanks Kevin

471241- 2.5" base gasket
507-430102-smaller saw carb gasket?
507-430103-same saw probably ^^ carb reed gasket?
429453- fiber washer
1707824-very large exhaust gasket
100095-some sort of paper like carb gasket-smaller saw

It might be easier to post pics. I checked the one 507 number and that number has been changed twice already.

The P52 uses a different coil, if you look at the mounts on the jug, they will be different. It would work on the P50, you would just need a different coil though.

Holy crap I learned a lot of stuff today.

I must be about all growed up now!

Thanks for the help on identifying the 507 gaskets, I figured the 100095 is for a p10. I'm still trying to figure these 3 out.

Kevin, that exhaust gasket looks like a dead ringer for a P60, since I have mine torn down for the 9042nd time, I measured it. The port opening on a 60 is about .550x1.560 Hope this helps.

That's what I thought at first Steve, but when I compared them it's quite a bit larger. I'm thinking a 120cc engine . This gasket measures 1.80 x .84 . Here is a comparison photo next to a P60.
Steve, have you figured out all the issues with your P60 yet?

P52

The P52 uses a different coil and flywheel as well, from the P60. Flywheels and coils are the same from the late P39's right up to the P62's. Don't use the blue coil from the early P39 models. The key grooves in the P60 are in a slightly different location and timing will be off(too much advance). Found this out the hard way with a P62 that I bought that someone had changed the flywheel to a P60 version. The kickback on a P62 with the wrong flywheel is something else.

A lot of people are complaining about that. I think if you go to ''settings'' at the top of the page and look in there you can reset it somewhere.

Yeah, click on settings, then go to the left side of the page and click ''general settings''

Then go to ''default thread subscription mode'' And you can set it to ''instant email'' or something like that.
