Thanks for posting the pict ED,....I was searching my albums for a pict of where I had drilled out and installed a machine screw and nut but alas I guess that they were all erased when my computer crashed.

The screw head showing outside doesn't bother me. Adds character.:msp_thumbup:

Guys, working with sheet metal, press in fasteners are used a lot. I don't know how they'd hold in an aluminum casting, but they hold well in sheet material. With a shop press and a little fab work to make a die to install it, one of these might make a spiffy replacement pin that would be unseen with new paint (or does the model sticker cover it?)

Here's a link to what we use at work, if someone wants to try it, drop me a PM and I'll send ya one or five.

Self-Clinching Pilot Pins - Type TPS

Ideally, it'll work great. Possibly it won't hold with vibration and such and you'll have a pre drilled hole for the screw fix. Worst case, it might crack the recoil housing when you try to press it in.

There is a contact on the page for tech support, if you're interested, might want to contact them and see what they think.

Got questions? Fire away.

Yes your sprocket is extremely worn, if you need a new one send me a PM.

Thanks guys. I thought it was, but just wanted to double check.
I have managed to weld it up and re-profile it, so it will be ok for now. I will be in touch Jerry as i would like to use a new one when the new chain goes on

Had the head off today and managed to get it in the lathe.

Took .015" off to bring the squish down to .030" and help boost the compression :msp_thumbup:

@ Lawrence and anyone else with subscription issues. Are you like I was using Hotmail?

If yes, there is a discussion of this problem here:

I changed my Hotmail account to my Yahoo account and now notifications work once again.

I picked up a 20" x .058 x 404 Pioneer posi lube bar, part number 474654. How many drive links will I need to fit a chain on this?
Thanks Kevin

Roller Nose

I juts saw the coolest thing at the local saw shop. On the floor was an old Pioneer bar package. I picked it up and looked inside. In there is a perfectly preserved roller nose bar with the Pioneer logo, black roller nose. I think it might fit my P25, I am going back tomorrow to check the fit.

What's it worth?

He said "that real old I will make you a good deal"

They come up on ebay quite often. Is it roller nose or sprocket nose? I have never seen a roller nose bar to fit a small p series. There are some 20'' hardnose and 32'' pioneer bars on the bay right now. I think he wants $20 for a 20 incher. I just bought a 24'' for $25 which I thought was fair.

If it doesn't fit any of your saws I am interested. It might be d007 mount. Let us know.

It's roller nose, no sprocket. It has a black wheel on the end and two gaps between the bar and the wheel where the chain would be hanging out in mid air for a link roughly? It's only about a 16" or 14" bar. I am going to buy it even if it doesn't fit I think.
