I never turn down a chance for NOS parts. Looks like 13 boxes in total. Not far from home. A dealer in the 60's and 70's. Haven't had much time to search through but looks like all pre P series stuff. I seen a new top cover for an NU 17, some 600 series parts and a couple of top covers from the early P40 P50 saws. (thin covers) Looks like most will be up for sale or trade since all my saws are the later P series.
Will post more photos after I look through it all. I am sure someone will be able to put some of the parts to good use.

If you stumble upon a coil for the NU-17, hang onto it... I may end up with a NU-17 with no spark... thus top cover sounds interesting too...

Some of my Pioneers

Here are some photos of some of my Pioneers. I have enjoyed examining your photos, so I thought that I would show a few. Sorry I can't figure out how to show the actual photos.
These saws have not been touched up, they are "as originally shipped" with some age and wear & tear.
I have included some Pioneer Partner and Poulan Pro versions as they all are Pioneers.
The first photo is some rare Pioneers. Upper left Pioneer P27-29 II prototype, upper right is P27 prototype, lower left P35 and lower right 1850.
The second photo is some of the P series. The P41s are field test units from the Pioneer factory and still have the field test numbers on them.
The third photo is my best Poulan pro 655.

Holy Snickeys, that is sweet collection . Wow, a p35 and some prototypes and that 655 is looking very nice and I could go on and on. I just saw your poulan collection as well and it's quite impressive. Thanks for sharing all your pics.

There is some major money in this picture. The P35 and others are as rare as they come. You sure have a nice collection.

A picture is worth a thousand words. You have a collection of museum quality. Thanks for posting the photos. The prototypes are truely one of a kind.

Pioneer 1074 Ignition

The 1074 I just rec'd has at some time been converted to electronic ignition. The points are still there but the wire goes nowhere. With the electronic ignition module having no primary contact, the Stop/Run switch has nothing to connect to. Does anyone know what can be done to make the switch work rather than having to choke or pull the plug wire off to stop the saw? Thanks

I don't know about making the switch work, but I can tell you that you can make a little bent tab to short the spark plug wire end to the cylinder head, kinda like this:

If you look closely, you can see that metal tab that is to the right of the spark plug. What was done back then was you pressed that tab down onto the top of the spark plug to short the spark to the cylinder head, thus shutting the engine off.

Hopefully someone can help with making the switch work. This would be an alternative option, temporary or permanent.

A trade has been worked out... I should be receiving a Pioneer NU-17 in a couple of weeks.

Run the ground wire from the module to the switch. The switch will then work in reverse, in the off position it will supply ground to the module, in the run position the switch would be open and thus no grounding. If it is an aftermarket module that should work.

Thanks for the help. Except for the high tension lead, there are no other wires exiting the ignition module so there's nothing to connect to the switch. ?? Strange!
