I think you're taking things a bit too seriously. Run the damn saws and enjoy them. These saws are 30 plus years old, parts have been changed.

Hey guys ... does anyone have Section F - Carburetion for a Holiday 1100W that uses the 'HS' Tillotson carb?

Some time ago, I downloaded an IEL Pioneer Section F document ('Section F - Carburetion.pdf') that deals with 'MD', 'HP' & 'HL' models, and, a Tillotson document ('Tillotson H and HP Carburetors.pdf') that deals with 'H' & 'HP' models, however, I don't have any carb servicing documentation specific to the 'HS' model ... as a first-timer at a chainsaw carb 'Repair Parts Kit' installation / servicing job, I was hoping to follow some documentation specific to my carb.

Is that resource somewhere on the site?

Or, as an alternative, which of the above referenced models is closest to the 'HS'?

This 'HS' carb of mine doesn't look complicated, and, as I've rebuilt automotive carburetors before, I could probably just wing it ... just thought I'd ask if that Section F for my saw is posted here somewhere.

Thanks, Kevin

HS info. Is this what you need?

Hey DSS! ... thanks for the link! ... I actually found that myself after I posted to this thread thinking I would possibly find the files section of this forum ... I guess Tillotsons' is still alive and well in Ireland ... have you ever heard of a PDF version of an old original Service Manual for my saw (that includes Section F)?
Thanks, Kevin

Kevin, I can't seem to find a manual right off. There is nothing saw specific in the carb manual itself anyway, a HS carb is the same no matter what it is mounted on.

I'll keep looking here.

Hey kev1n! ... thanks for that link! ... that's an awesome resource! ...

I think I was at 'cjcocn's MediaFire site back in July, 2010 and got many of 'petesoldsaw's files that I thought were relevant to my saw ... my old link didn't work any more though ...

I just looked at all the file titles from all users and don't see exactly what I'm looking for ... as far as S.M.'s or S.M. Sections go anyways ... I suspect that the Holiday II's or 11-10 IPL saws are different from mine ... right? I did find a Parts List for the Holiday 1100W and a Pioneer Shop Service Manual 1972 (that does deal with the model '1100') in 'ModifiedMark's folders, but no S.M. or S.M. Section specific to the Holiday / 1100W. Perhaps the latter will suffice.

Thanks again for stepping up with that link kev1n!

Kevin, the names in the folder and cjcorn deserve all the thanks. If you go to modifiedmarks manuals and download the shop service manual on the bottom you'll find your info on page 37, 38, and 39.
Good luck, Kevin

It looks like most of those 1100, 1200, 2200 series saws are covered under the same service manual.

OK kev1n ... thanks ... I find model '1100' in 'ModifiedMark's 'Pioneer Shop Service Manual 1972.pdf' (a 60-page PDF) at pages 44, 45, & 46 (rather than 37, 38 & 39) ... is about the only difference from what you found ... (?) ... we gotta be talkin' about the same thing I think ...

Pioneer 1074 fuel line and filter replacement in gas tank

I have a Pioneer 1074 that needs filter and fuel line in gas tank replaced. It looks like you have to take the saw apart for this simple repair. Any advice? I do not have any manuals. Thanks

You don't have to take the saw apart. Fish the fuel line out of the tank and take the filter off. There is a bulkhead o ring fitting in the front of the carb box. Take the line going to the carb off of this, then unscrew it and pull it out. The fuel line from the tank will come with it. Put the new line on it and screw it back together, fish the line out of the tank again and put on your new filter. Done. You need 1/8 x 1/4 tygon line.

Here's an IPL, it's for a P-26 but it's the same saw basically. The bulkhead fitting is #473772.

Good luck!

Good luck!

I also fed a wire through the old line to help guide fishing the new line in.

Cheers!

pioneer 2460 super

My newest addition. this one I'm more proud of than all my others combined!!! feebay special but wasn't very much. ALL original never been apart, NO cracks or funk!
Still has Pioneer bar and the ORIGINAL Pioneer chain, ( appears to be 1/2" pitch) maybe 404, have to measure it, and Pioneer rim sprocket too.

The Inject Aire kinda confuses me? it says remove cover, but theres nothing there, thinkin it was a additional option or?

Saw has compression thats outta site! I'm barely man enough to pull it over. Piston and cylinder are spotless, piston has all its machine marks still, thick ring too. LOUD!!! is an under statement for this 77cc thing with its Double barrel muffler.

P60 !!

Pappa bear (P60) just came home with me to be with Mamma (P41) and baby (Farmlite) bear. Been sitting in a shed for 10-15 years. Haven't checked compression, but it feels pretty good. Got spark and it fired with a dab of mix in the cylinder. It sat with mix in it all those years, so the fuel filter is rotten and fuel lines cracked. Gonna try them first , But I'm probably going to need a carb kit too to get Pappa growling again. Overall condition is pretty good (if you don't look at the clutch side:msp_tongue:). I'll post pics later, but I'm pretty happy to have my first 6 cube saw!

Edit to add: Wow! Easiest fuel system to get to I have EVER seen. Why aren't all saws this simple?

A good buddy who lives across the valley used to have a 3270 when he cut timber in the Northeast. That may have been the next generation of the same saw - very similar. He figures the 3270 is the reason he's deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other one. I'll ask him if he has a clue about the inject-aire business.

Have fun with it!

Look for the adjuster screw under the air filter cover, high up on the left side of the Air Injected saws there is an adjustment screw that lets air circumvent the throttle plate in the carb, at idle the throttle plate completely shuts off the air entering the engine through the carb, it enters a separate orifice ahead of the carb, controlled by the adjuster screw already mentioned. This is how the idle speed is set, usually about two full turns out from gently seated just so that the chain does not turn. Setting the saws up that have the inject aire feature is very different from the common carb fed engines.

Pioneers are the easy saws to work on, whole saw can be torn to the case and split in 10 minutes with a ratcheting screwdriver with bits, an allen wrench and 1/2" pipe for a puller for oil gear, hammer and wrench for clutch, flywheel nuts.

Your right, NICE FUEL SYSTEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!11
