I will get to show off one of these days too! P52 and a P52/62 ! :msp_thumbsup:
Quick question...
is the crankshaft supposed to move side to side (end play, not radial/bearing loose play) on an NU-17? I noticed that when I looked at it a little while ago.
I hope I didn't break something during the removal of the flywheel nut. (yeah, spun it tighter and tighter until it stripped the nut out due to being a newbie to the Pioneer saws, mentioned that in the thread eons ago)
Never seen one that did, I only have 7 of them, built 3 from scratch, restored two and have 2 nice runners. They use the same seals and bearings the 600 series do and might have .005-.010 sideways movement.
Powder coating is your friend on these bad boys. :msp_thumbup:
As luck would have it there is a powder coating company directly across the street from where I work. I shall be inquiring as to whether they can do something similar.
Great looking saw by the way Randy.
, which reminds me I need to send a PM about a P60 ignition module.

Steve, those ignition modules are almost impossible to find. I know you've had the P60 for years now. I'd love to see you get it running. If you can't find a module, I'll send you one in trade for some of that vintage cheddar cheese. :msp_biggrin:
Well, the P-41 S starts, runs, idles, oils, etc very nicely except for a bog off idle that should tune out. I didn't get that far, as I discovered just how dull a semi chisel chain has to be before it won't cut whatsoever. I'll get it on the grinder this weekend, and another loop of oddball chain is on the shopping list next time I order from Baileys or E&E. It's a 22" bar, 3/8x058 78DL. I'm not even gonna bother looking locally, I know better.
