Never seen one that did, I only have 7 of them, built 3 from scratch, restored two and have 2 nice runners. They use the same seals and bearings the 600 series do and might have .005-.010 sideways movement.

Compression is a little better than it feels, 130 seems low yet, but what do these normally make? I know my 60 is in the 150 range.
I pulled the muffler, cylinder looks decent that I can see. Thin ring piston has some light scoring, probably causing the low comp numbers. I didn't get pics cause my macro pic skills just ain't that good.
Previous owner said he started it last week, but it's got old gas in it. I'm gonna dump the fuel tomorrow, drop in some fresh, and see what happens. Spark is good, which reminds me I need to send a PM about a P60 ignition module.

Steve, those ignition modules are almost impossible to find. I know you've had the P60 for years now. I'd love to see you get it running. If you can't find a module, I'll send you one in trade for some of that vintage cheddar cheese. :msp_biggrin:

Ed, thanks for the offer. I have another member that might have one for me. I should know for sure within a week. It's got new bearings and seals in it now, should be a going machine with some spark to it. If the other source falls through, I'll be in touch.
Didn't get the chance to try the 41 today, maybe tomorrow.

Well, the P-41 S starts, runs, idles, oils, etc very nicely except for a bog off idle that should tune out. I didn't get that far, as I discovered just how dull a semi chisel chain has to be before it won't cut whatsoever. I'll get it on the grinder this weekend, and another loop of oddball chain is on the shopping list next time I order from Baileys or E&E. It's a 22" bar, 3/8x058 78DL. I'm not even gonna bother looking locally, I know better.
Nice!! The P40 series in my opinion is a very underrated saw. They can really be nice hot rods. If you have the western kit, you can change out the top half of the muffler for a standard cover, and instantly make a dual port, with an awesome sound. Also, they work really well with velocity stacks and K&N filters, as the stock boot/ filter setup is a bit of a weak point. Bryce still has NOS wrap handlebars for them on Ebay at a reasonable price if you need one.
If you need help with the chain, hit me up. I have lots of 3/8 58 chisel chain, and can spin you up a loop or two..
I pick this saw up. But am a bit confused. Recoil states it being a
P62 but the tag states it as a P61EX. I always thought the P62's were
a yellow color and the 61's were the lime green. This saw is the lime
green. Appears to be all original but you never know. I also have a spare
chain brake clutch cover thats green with a perfect P62 decal. Should this
saw have a chain brake or not. I thought all P62's did.

Also doe's anyone know what the EX stands for on the tag.
This saw also has more snot than any other big P series saws
i have. It absolutly rips. running 3/8 chisel square ground.
Notice the muffler mod. Looks a Stihl 090 muffler grill.
